Has anybody dropped the dwell down and found the perfect number to keep good consistency? I have mine at 8 ms right now and fsdo at 2 because I play in fairly cool weather. I am chronoing with in +/-8 fps. Just wondering what everybody else is doing with theirs

I have my dwell at 11 and fsdo (abs) setting at 0 right now and that's working great for me.

The only reason I was lowering it was to try and get better efficiency. but im not sure how much of a difference it makes to be honest.

Did you notice a big difference? I mean if the settings are working for you with no ill effects, then I guess that speaks for itself.

I never did efficiency testing on my gt to start and haven't done them now the only thing I have checked while doing it was my consistency over the chrono. Everything seems to be fine so far and I may try turning my fsdo off. I only turned it on last weekend coming into winter in Canada it gets chilly

Gotcha man, makes sense. If you don't have the new Militia Lube yet I would recommend it as it's supposed to be better in the cold as well as overall just a better lube.

I would say that 8 is a bit low for the GT. In cold weather you will start seeing broken paint and some bolt stick. Best to start over at 12 (stock) and lower 1ms. Over the chrono till you see the FPS change 10+ - and go back up .5ms. In colder weather i would go up 2ms from where you are to no see FSDO or any issue with breaking paint.

Thanks! I will do this at practice this weekend and update you guys with what I find. Gotta love tinkering you can always improve something on the marker....

Have you lowered your dwell or anything else at all, or are you running it stock and not worried about it.

+/- 8 seems kind of bad consistency wise. From my experience with my GT once it was broken in was getting +/-2 with most shots being within 1 fps of my set pressure. I have gotten so used to this that anything worse than +/-4 just seems unacceptable. Using all stock settings getting about 5 pods and a hopper off 3k.

You know your guns broken in when you think the chronos broken b/c theres no change in fps for most shots lol

If youre shooting crappy paint the consistency will be crappy. If youre shooting quality paint, i would say you can get better consistency then 8. Atleast if the GT is broken in.

If it's not broken in, 8 is all good.

8+/- is the industry standard for being acceptable as far as I knew...

I agree with ya but I rarely under bore and and unless your shooting premium paint for the chrono its never going to stay +/- 5 at all times.
My gt is well broken in with probably 10-15 cases through it minimum so it should be broken in enough.

Note:I usually shoot Draxxus basic training or Draxxus recsport paint at practice because of the price I get it at. Our store is switching to Valken in the near future and Ill be able to shoot something that isn't dog crap soon

Upping the dwell should also make it smoother shooting shouldn't it?

Upping the dwell should smooth it out a little bit. At 11 mine is perfectly smooth. I'd just put it at 11 and call it a day. Maybe up it a notch or 2 on very cold days as shootnpoo mentioned.

Yeah within 8 is good enough for most people. It may not be smoother with a higher dwell, but it will certainly be more consistent up to a certain point.

Played sunday with dwell at 9 to start, had a little fsdo so i just upped the dwell to 11 and its happy again. I guess there really isn't any need to drop the dwell....
