If you want to protect your forehead and the top of your head, wear paintball hand bands (They usually have extra padding in the front) , sandanas, or beanies. Layer them up if you need to.

While I'm seen a few helmets on the field (I believe VForce sells a tactical helmet / mask combo) all it really does is guarantee that every single headshot is going to break on it - plus you have the added "benefit" of potentially not knowing you get hit, which means you look like you're playing on & get shot a bunch more times.
Headbands / Sandanas are the way to go.

Not to mention, a helmet will be a bigger target for your head. Some people also like to go "helmet hunting".

And depending on how the helmet sits on your head, it could stop proper ventilation to your mask and make it fog.

The V-Force helmet mask combo was designed for use by the military, not just for use when they play
paintball, but also for those times when they use Simmunitions. The helmet portion is a sturdy, foam
lined copy of the military Kevlar helmet.
The helmet may cause more pellets to break, but it also affords you with added head protection when
you're trying to bull your way through dense vegetation. If you're concerned about the added break
risks, consider installing a helmet cover, which come in a variety of camo patterns.
One added benefit from this mask combo is the added throat and neck protection which it affords.
BTW, if you're looking for true ballistic protection, consider the version
which has the ballistic face/neck shield. That model stops both shotgun pellets and things like IED
shrapnel.
Sincerely,
Sincerely,

I use a "tactical" helmet I picked up on eBay for about $20 shipped. It's vented so it doesn't get too hot here in the Florida heat and provides a more stable platform for mounting a camera than my mask. It may increase my profile slightly, but the extra protection helps because I run with pistols and most engagements are up close.

Have you looked at the Save Phase masks?
I think they cover your whole dome.

I own a Save Phase mask which was given to me two years ago
and it's strictly a face mask. That's not to say they don't make
a version that has full head protection.
What makes the Eye Tactical mask/helmet model unique, is the
way it fits to the helmet and the fact that there's also throat,
neck, cheek area flexible nylon mesh guard which you can snap
out and wash or leave off if you wish.
Here's a link to their site so you can check it out for yourself;

Just wear a headwrap, a beanie, and a headband and you'll be fine.
