Ninja rubber coating cracking?!?!?
So I bought a brand new 50/45 ninja tank and brought it out the first day and the rubber coating on it cracked (after i filled it for the forwt tome ever) and every day since has continued to keep cracking. I bought it brand new about a month ago today. Should I call ninja about this?

Iv heard what both of you are saying from people at local fields. I'm going to give them a call tomorrow. I want to see if they will even let me exchange it for a 68/45 too. Cuz I made a mistake gettin that 50/45 with my long arms woops!

Dude, what the crap are you talking about? Half the recent threads are about this issue and every time the person sends in the tank to Ninja to be fixed. Also, they already know about the gel coat problem and are fixing it. See the link above.

Interesting. Whats your name? I dont recall any local "Elgin, IL" players stopping by or calling in about this lately. Also, we're a whole 25 minute drive from Elgin. Have you even called us, stopped in, or emailed? PM your full name so I can double check my records

I'd like to see proof of this.
Rob and Ninja has always taken care of me when I blew a burst disk. I sent it in and they fixed it no questions asked and even installed and preset a reg for me for my Luxe. Nothing but the best service around.

Truth
They've treated me so well in the few times I visit. If you've met them irl, I'd say it blasphemous to say they don't care.
I will always vouch for ninja's products and CS moreso than any company (not to say any of them our bad).
They are a great example of what it means to be an ambassador of the sport.

Having the same issue with my 50/45. Brand new tank with tons of cracks all over it. Oddly enough I just noticed when I pulled it out to check my seals. It appears to be cosmetic but I just want to be positive that it's still s to use. I won't have time to get swapped by ninja before next play date so if it isn't positively safe I'll just go buy a backup tank. Best advice Rob?

As long as the fibers under the gel coat are not fraying or damaged then yes, you can safely use it.

Has anyone had an issue with the tank once it's been repaired? I sent it to Ninja (or whoever re-coats the tank using the warranty) and when I received it back it seemed like the coat they put on it was very sub-par compared to the original. It scratches very easily, I have marks all over the tank that won't come off from it just being inside of my tank cover and I recently had a big chunk just chip off from barely nicking it with a wrench (yes I understand a wrench will do this, but I'm talking BARELY nicked it and a huge chunk just chipped away).
It seems like the repaired tanks gel coat just isn't as thick or as durable? . .

My 50 has the same issue, its just because the coating doesn't stretch as much as the actual tank material right?
Do the 68's do the same? I'm looking to get one for myself with an SLP reg.

It was a defect in the gel coat so hypothetically speaking, any bottle born before 07/12 that come from them could have this issue. Not all, but some.
All new bottles and any bottles sent in for warranty work has been taken care of and have had ZERO issues since the new gel coat was released. Send it in and our bottle manufacturer will take care of you on it.

I use it every week without a back up. So I think I'll just keep it since its just the coating. As long as its safe. Lol tanks born before July 2012. I bought mine brand new in June. Quite the timing huh? XD

OK, its up to you. There's no out of pocket expense to you meaning its a free warranty repair so you might as well send it in when you have about a 2 week break from playing.
Just so everyone is aware, this is NOT a ninja-specific issue. Most of us buy our bottles from the same companies and we can all run into this issue. For example: http://www.pbnation.com/showthread.php?t=3896187
