Matrix help

I just picked up Nyx matrix #189, it was in need of a good cleaning and I have started that project. My question comes in at the next step, it has the origanal board in it and when I put a new battery in it won't turn on. I think it needs a new connection. I can put a new connector in but I want the opinions of the gurus before I went forward. What would your first steps be?

It's either the board or the wiring then. Hard to be sure which is the problem without spare parts around, really.

Check and make sure one of the wires on your 9v connector hasn't came un-soldered at the battery connector end, and also make sure they haven't came lose in the board connection end. If all appears fine, then you have a board issue.
