Well, I played Pro 10 years ago, and the game is SO not the same today..... if I came up against my 2002 self, I would dominate with the 2012 game skills (both playing with the same equipment).
2002 paintball was way slower, and let me give you a few specific examples of how the game has changed since then:
- few people could shoot effectively with their off hand (most Pros started learning this skill in 2001 - copying Chris Lasoya)
- few had even heard of a snap shot (the russians developed the modern snap shot in 2002)
- few could run and gun effectively (Dynasty started that trend at the end of 2001)
Sure, the odd player here and there may have had any of the above skills as natural ability... but for all intends and purposes, the game developed tremendously between 2001 and 2006.
Since then, not so much.... as more and more organistions started to copy the russians, and development since then, has mostly been tactical.
