Yes it will change the sound do to the fact its a open face bolt and i don't think it will work in the Geo 1 or 2 because I believe they changed the stroke lenght but not 100% on that

I believe it will make your gun louder since it is open face, also your loader must be breaking the paint because my geo2 has over 125k shots and I've only broken like 3 balls , or u are just having bad luck

installed mine yesterday on my geo3 and yes, it does change the sound signature. don't ask me if it got louder or not, it just sounds different now. i was able to shoot the most brittle paint we had available without a single break - celtic druid - a brand that usually only starts working around 25°C, and we were nowhere near that temperature. a teammate was trying to shoot the same paint with his ego11 - even capped at 8bps with the 'noid set as smooth as possible the gooey mess was still coming out of his eye covers...

no idea if the bolt did the trick though, should've tried to shoot the same paint with the ST1 bolt first

The st2 bolts give the ego more of a popping noise from my experience I've used them in the geo one an two (prototypes), not sure if it will fit since the 3 has a different prop shaft

put softface bolt in my geo2 works fine sent velocity up about 30fps otherwise fine

So let me get this straight, P E comes out with a new and better bolt and you guys are giving the OB a hassel cause he wants to get one...

if it were a BETTER bolt then the geo3 would come with only that bolt, its not necessarily better just made for more fragile paint even though its just non GST bolt with a etha tip....

Paintball is a sport where people spend a lot of money on their equipment. When u have a high end gun and the manufacture comes out with a new product to improve the performance of said marker, most players r going to want that up grade.

that is true but this bolt is not a upgrade it is a standard bolt for the geo3 and most likely has a more dramatic affect on the geo3 do to the gun having the ability to slow the bolt speed down where as the geo2 or 1 does not.the gst kit was designed to slow bolt speed down in the 1 and 2 so if you use this openface bolt with soft tip in your 2 it would speed up and have to opposite affect begin that you have no way to manually slow it down.

Sorry to revive an old thread, just didn't see much point in starting a new one if a similar one already exists.

Curious if there has been any more info on the new bolt being available as a drop in upgrade for other Geos, similar to what they do with the Ego bolts.
