need help in accounting?
i have a 2 year associates degree in accounting and currently working on bachelors. i took accounting 101 essentially 3 times (once in highschool, once in tech school, and once in 4 year university) so i am very good at explaining things in that class. any more advanced questions i would have a pretty good idea of answering, but anything too complex or nitty gritty i would need to refer to text for some help. send me a pm or post in thread for help with anything accounting related.

In my experience, some people just dont get accounting. I think most people will either excell really well, or just scrape by barely passing. IMO managerial accounting is harder to learn, but its much more usefull as a tool. What subjects were the first test over?

This is very true. In my experience with both Financial and Managerial Accounting, those who stay on top of the early work and have a fundamental understanding of the basic concepts will do much better than those who try to play catch up later in the semester.

yeah, right now im taking "financial reporting 1" they call it, its just financial accounting 101 but with more detail, and more regulatory jargon, its mind numbingly boring and 90% stuff already known, but people are still asking questions like "so unearned revenue isnt revenue?" and it boggles my mind why these people are accounting majors, in a senior level class, and struggle so much with the basics

Accounting is a mindset and a way of thinking. Some people just don't get it and have a hard time thinking in accounting terms. I just had a test in managerial accounting and people were seriously complaining about having to produce a (simple manufacturing one, mind you, not even a complex broken down one) income statement. Boggles the ****ing mind.

Yeah. Sometimes I feel that teachers don't really remember how it was like at first when they started to learn. So they are not good at teaching the fundamentals. PM me if you need any explination in a particular topic, it might help to hear it from someone else.
