I'd say an etek. drop of oil on the bolt and a dab of grease on the rammet and your set for 2-3 cases of paint. then wipe off and repeat

It will be a bit heavy, but the AKA Viking or Excal is the easiest. You simply drop a couple of drops of oil into the ASA, air it up, shoot a few times, and you are good to go for the day. At the end, simply wipe down and put it away. Next day you play, do the same thing. You never have to tear it down.

Actually, I know of a guy that got more than 2,000,000 actual paintballs, not including any dry firing, before he had to deal with the ram cartridge.

go with a used 07/08 ego. probably one of the easiest markers to maintain, pull out the bolt, put some tri-flow, pull out the ram and put a couple drops of PE oil and ur done. you can go forever without rebuilding the LPR and HPR such a simple and not to mention efficient gun.

Agree. If you can find them for a decent price in good condition. Otherwise the newer eteks shoot, work, and are maintained the same.

The Axe is incredibly easy to maintain IMO.

The tool-less bolt removal is awesome. Push a button, rotate, and slide out the assembly. Put some dow33 based lube on the o-rings and you're good to go.

Just curious. Will the ease of maintenance be the main deciding factor for your next gun purchase or are you just asking a general question?

Ego/Eteks are easy. Just a drop of oil before each use.
Proto/dye are a little more work. They need the bolt pulled out and inspected cleaned and lubed every other use.
Tippmanns are more work to clean and lube, but are pretty indestructible.
They just needs minimal care.

All markers a pretty easy to care for if you do it on a regular basis.
It's always when someone starts to tune the marker that things go wrong.
If you are not the kind of person to work on your own stuff, then make sure you never start taking things apart to see what the internals look like.
Or if you should hear a leak.
Leave that to a tech wavy friends.

i disagree on your statement about things go wrong once you start tuning the marker. Things go wrong when someone doesnt know what their doing starts tuning markers. I tune ego's and luxes all the time and people rave about how good they shoot or how much better it is after I'm done. You have to know how it works and the pressures associated with poppits or spools before you start. And know whats happening when you adjust settings. 9 out of 10 times the problem isnt the marker, its the idiot holding it, abusing it and never maintaing it properly.

Egos. Every game just wipe off bolt. Put oil on and go. But I would suggest at least every 2 games take out your zick and wipe it down and lube it. Even then to do both wont even take 10 minutes

my god people, any gun made by ALIEN 2009 or later. lube the rammer ONCE PER YEAR and do not adjust anything for the rest of the season, no lube, lo wiping down, no oil just lube one oring per season and call it good. rammer is completely sealed below the solenoid, no way to get dirt or paint or watter into that oring as it is an "interdependently" operating rammer.
