Out of those two I would get the Closer. It is a very solid performer and feels great in the hands. Plus BLAST has fantastic CS. You might also consider looking around BST for a V1 Victory. You can find some for a great price.

You might be able to find a V1 near that price range. Just look around. Also check out a used Vice. One of the best guns I have ever owned. You can get them between $350-$450

I am looking at the same thing.. I can get a used Closer or used Axe for $300. Can anyone explain why they think one is better than the other??

The Axe is a great mid-range marker. The Closer is an older high-end marker. You will be happy with either. I think the Closer has the better shot but a Boss bolt in the Axe closes that gap. They feel very different in the hands. The Axe is not comfortable to everyone. You need to hold it first to see if it fits you. If not it will make your decision a lot easier. Both are efficient. Both pretty smooth. I prefer BL's CS over Empire/KEE's CS. Oh and I agree with an earlier post. The Closer looks nicer.

Closer will be more efficient (assuming you get a PE'd/SC'd one which it seems like most out there these days have) and have a better stock board. The Axe is lighter. It's a tough choice, I think I'd go with the Closer.
