trigger preferences
Hey guys I just bought a DM5 and I was looking into possibly buying a new trigger. Do you guys have a favorite trigger and if so why?

My favorite is the Dye Iron Men Reach for the UL frame.

Dm5 stock trigger is by far my favorite! I wish the ul had the same model.
Although I did mod mine a touch; I straightened out the bottom curve with a plier so if stood 30* forward instead of a curve.

That is really interesting but i dont think i could take pliers to the trigger.
Any thoughts on the CP rake trigger?

UL frame would be well worth it if you plan to keep the dm5. As far as cp goes I always prefered the sling blade style to the rake but that's more a personal preference.

Nice! I like that Critical Raze trigger but they only have it for the DM4 on ebay. I didnt think any of the triggers for DM5 had magnetic tension. I thought they only relied on the micro switch for feedback.
I will defiantly be looking out for this in the future!

I could be wrong but I believe that an aftermarket board could change that.

I had the CP rake trigger on my DM5 before I got the UL frame for it. That was my favorite trigger for the older style frame. You could always mod the trigger for the magnet mod. I think it is in the stickies. You will have to mess around with getting the magnet on the trigger because if I recall the back of the trigger is slightly different than the UL trigger

Thanks for the advice. I started to look through the stickies and the magnet trigger mod is only for DM6-DM10.
The only after market trigger that i can find for the DM5 that is still for sale is the CP rake trigger. Second hand ones are even harder to come by.

Just because the stickies say it is only for the DM6-DM10 does not mean it cannot be done. You just can't follow the directions step by step because the frame on the DM5 is not a UL frame.
Here is an old link to my DM5 w/ the normal frame. If you look at the 3rd picture when I took this picture I had a CP trigger that had a magntic kit with it.

So I am 100% sure you can do a magnet mod to a DM5. It will just take a little trial and error before you get it perfect.
if you are looking for a 2nd hand trigger try contacting harjukewm - he has a ton of parts for older DMs. He will likely have many aftermarket triggers for a DM5. Here is one of his threads: http://www.pbnation.com/showthread.p...ight=dm5+parts
If I remember correctly DMC, DM4, DM5 triggers can be used within the same frame. Slight differences between the DMC and DM4,DM5 frames though...

Thank you for the offer but that is the one aftermarket trigger that is readily available.

After looking a little I found that the DM5 and DMC are will use the same trigger but the DM4 is not the same as the DM5 trigger for what ever reason.

I might give this a try. The thing is about the double finger triggers make the gun look older than it actually is. Other than giving the trigger a better feel i also wanted to update the gun's look.

if you didn't want to pay to update the triggers look some guys have dremeled out the notch in the middle of the factory trigger. I'm sure with a little searching you could find examples of it somewhere.
just another one of the many alternatives out there

CP trigger is nice. Has a magnetic return and is very smooth. I've had one in my DM5 for years.

I ended up buying the CP rake trigger off ebay new. I really do like the magnetic feel instead of the spring.
I will update you guys on how it goes.

Had the cp rake on my dm4 and it was awesome. I have two dm6s now and they both have cp rakes on them
