Has anyone tried the BT Metal Red and Green Dot Sight on their Trracer?

Just curious if anyone has used this BT red dot sight on their Trracer (or anything else) and what they thought of it. The size and price are nice. How useful is it?

thanks for the help

My Trracer had that sight mounted on it when I bought the gun.

I've been playing for a long time, but I've never learned to aim a gun instinctively so when shooting a pump I've got to have some kind of sight.
Normally when I play I use an Armson OEG sight on a VSC Phantom.

This BT sight was decent. It's either a clone of the comperable NC Star sights you see on Amazon or eBay or made under license from the same factory.
I liked how it was elevated a bit, so that the sight picture was above the feed block, which gets in the way on some sights.
The reticle wasn't as bright or sharp as I wanted it to be, and after it took a direct paintball hit it seemed to get a little worse. I ended up trying to take the sight apart to clean it and broke one of the tiny wires from the battery. My fault, not the sight's- these things are actually quite durable and well built, but are not designed to be user-rebuildable. There was no real way to fix the sight at this point so I ended up having to throw it away, though I kept the mounting rails for some other projects.

After that I put a BSA Huntsman red/green/blue sight on it. I liked this one better, mostly because of how aggressive it looked, but it also had a brighter, clearer dot. This one sits lower on the gun than the BT sights, so some of the feedblock crept into the sight picture, but not a terrible amount. I have yet to take a direct hit to this sight, so I have no idea how durable it is.

Oh, one more thing- don't go out of your way to get a green or blue dot.
They're never as bright red dots and don't contrast with foliage as well- on both these sights I always ended up switching to the "red" mode when I played.

Was the sight accurate enough to be practical?

Yes, it was certainly usable, but I think there are better sights with larger sight pictures out there.
With the explosion in popularity of Airsoft in the last couple years, Amazon is full of cheap Eotech clones and other cool sights.
