All the action cams on the market have no optical zoom. And digital zoom (be it on your computer editing software, or internal in the camera) are just taking the original image and zooming in on that image, so you reduce the pixels each time you zoom in, making the image grainy and fuzzy.
My ZoomCam I can play with it set at 5X optical zoom or more, (I used to leave it at 3X but I've got it dialed in better now and can capture my shots at 5X optical zoom).
That means I can then zoom in more digitally and have a much better image than any action cam can produce. I made this video as so many people see videos like mine, and think they can go buy an action cam and get footage that shows their hits on the field...
Then they are disappointed when they can't see what they are shooting...
