How much stuff do you generally carry with you to the field? I bring two guns, two hoppers, a tank, tools, water bottles, and a can stuff a few bags of paint into an L.L. Bean backpack that I use for school. If I need to move all of my stuff, I just used a duffel bag. If you just want a backpack and will be carrying only one gun, look at laptop backpacks. They have a padded sleeve that will fit most guns. Or just get a paintball gear bag, I don't use any so I wouldn't know about those.

A roller duffle is your best bet. Wal Mart, Target, Costco, Sams, ETC has a bunch of options. Last time I was at Target there were some that were around $30 that were pretty decent.
The only things you're missing out on with paintball specific gear bags is the brand name, and the specific compartments for each individual item (paintball specific ones have spaces for your guns, your pods, your masks, etc.). However, I find this to be a waste of space (I am able to get 2 players worth of equipment in a bag about 1/2 the size of the giant PE and DYE bags that only hold the same amount).

^^^ What everyone else said. Go for a cheap duffle bag. No need to buy an expensive paintball specific bag just yet.

I used to use a handgun case from Walmart for my marker, parts and tools, and a small shoulder style overnight bag for misc stuff then just carry my mask and paint. How much stuff do you need to bring??

Unless you really need a paintball specific one, get a duffel bag. The one listed above or something a bit bigger is fine. I have a 24" one and it holds 2 guns (in a PMR box), 16 pods, a 4+5 Redz pack, 3+4 proto pack, three jerseys, two pairs if pants, two Halo B hoppers, a 68/45 tank, barrel kit, and tools. Need to get a bit bigger one to fit a second tank and masks but they're more than enough.
If you want a paintball specific bag, I'd recommend a Dye or Empire bag. Great layouts and designs with plenty of space for both.

 Agreed.
While i currently use some old gun bags or backpacks, any serious gear hauling involves a cheap rolling duffle bag i got from Costco for $40.

I found a cardboard box that fit the shape perfectly and shoved it inside. Now it holds its shape like an expensive gear bag and stays completely organized. I will have to check out the bigger ones, I need to expand.

This is what i use:
http://www.amazon.com/TETON-Sports-E...mping+backpack
I ride a motorcycle everywhere so that's why I went with a backpack. Even with 50-60lbs of gear it feels comfortable. I fit a boxed gun, freak kit, pants, jersey, pants, hopper, extra shirt and shorts, shoes, proflex, knee pads and up to a case of paint(bags) with room for all my little crap in the side pockets too. I buckle my harness on the outside through the spare pod loops and has held fine, even at triple digit speeds. This bags a beast, been through a motorcycle accident where I actually rolled on it (I'm 6'2 240) and it's still trucking haha
