hey guys, I'm in the market for getting a new barrel. I usually use the stock barrel of what ever im using or a 1 piece CP, but i need a little more than that sense paint has been getting smaller. I already have a freak insert kit, but no barrel to fit it to.
I've been debating on getting a cheap UL back and having it bored for freak inserts from super stanchy and then possibly throwing a DW CF whip tip on it, but thats probably going to be $100-130 depending on how cheap i can get the UL back plus $30 for boring, and $55 for the tip. I think it looks different and stands out, but is that really the only advantage over the fibur?
My other idea is to just get a DW fibur barrel and call it a day with the the 1 piece and freak inserts. I'd prbably just buy it new which is $90. It would be cheaper and lighter, but would it be as durable as the aluminum back?
What kind of input would do people have?
Would it really be worth the extra money, its hard to imagine so?
really my only reference on the UL part:
