TiPX Upgrade Options

So I'm about to get my TiPX(TPX) and I'm super excited for some pistol play again. I'm going to use it as a primary with a remote line and I'm looking to add some things to it like a longer barrel.

What barrel(s) are you all using(used) and what length would you all recommend?
Apart from those two things is there anything else you all would suggest?

When I had my tpx I had a hammerhead tpx barrel on it. Shot nice...the only thing I didn't like was the rifling on the inside of the barrel...when I had breaks it was a pain in the *** to clean, especially at the field.

I've heard good things about HammerHead Barrels. I believe people are saying Rain-X window cleaner helps with barrel breaks. Definitely something I'mma look into

You can use rain x...but it only works so well with the rifling inside the barrel. It works awesome for smooth bore barrels...just not so well with the rifling. Great barrel for the money tho!

I'm a fan of leaving things stock, but people seem to like the tpx ifit kit...

Anything A5/ X7 threaded with an external diameter of 7/8" will fit into your TPX. Ive had great success with a 16" JJ ceramic.

Other than that I dont suggest anything. Since you are running remote you dont need anything internal, and internal upgrades only get you an extra shot or two off a 12g anyways.

Nice! Has anyone acquired the first strike mod/kit for the tpx? Curious how well it works. I have an idea for a setup with a pair of tpx's.

Ive heard from some people on a few different boards.

Supposedly the 1st gen mod was crap, but Gunhead addressed the problem with it and it works extremely well now. I was planning on doing a First Strike mod on mine when I had it, but didnt. I havent heard much bad about Gunhead if at all.

Ok cool, good to know. What kind of consistency is everyone getting out of these things?

I'd say the TPX ifit kit is a serious waste of money. The shortness of the inserts aren't nearly worth their cost and don't give as much of a gain as they should for that money.

Buying a stock X7 barrel and having it freak bored, then using a stainless steel insert of appropriate bore in there will be cheaper and yield far greater gains in the accuracy/range/consistency/efficiency area.

That said, if I had a TiPX, I'd be sure to buy the TechT Pro Series MRT kit for the gun. The reduced weight and softer spring will lend to better consistency and paint handling... although I'm sure you could definitely score an extra few shots per CO2 cartridge as well running an overall lower operating pressure after that and the freak insert being set in place.

Never tested mine, I used it at stock velocity since im too cheap to chrono my guns since I play outlaw.

I probably got at least 2 to 2 1/2 mags off a single 12g before any major drop in pressure.

Nice good to know if I eve decide to loose the remote line. I intend to have about 8-10 mags with additional rounds in tubes so it'll be good to know how many 12gs to have.

Holy jesus, thats a lot of mags. Check out Hustle, they have some good deals.

I know with my TiPX with the only upgrade being my 16" JJ I could get 3-4 hit eliminations from 50+ feet away using decent paintballs.

Yeah, I'm looking to attend folda gap this year and I'm thinking about my longevity in the field. I ran a t9.1 setup in a scenario and I was running out of shots before I was getting out. How would you guys define your style of play with the tpx?

I played very carefully, a lot of sneaking. But then again I also carried 4 mags, an extra 12 and no tubes.

Yes. But ultimately you have to decide for yourself.

Question: does anyone know where I could get just the spring from the sa-17 mags? I have an extended mag idea I wanna try out

I just tried looking and couldnt find anything. Ever think of trying to use a spring out of a RAP4 mag? They are around $15 + shipping online.

Or you could try dropping an Email/ calling Empire to see if you can get a spring.

I haven't however I will consider that another time. I'm looking to make a 10 rd mag and I think that spring would be most suitable. Ill email them, as see what happens.

Basically my idea is get one of those paintball tubes and plastic weld it to the bottom of the mags so that only the portion with the paintball is elongated
