WRX, probably 7-10 depending on condition and stuff. STI is probably gonna be 12k at least for a clean one, I would think.

What he said.

You can find high miled 04s for like 6 or so, but expanding into the 8/9 range and you can find one low miled, maybe a few ups (or modless) or however you like it.

An 04 STi is going to start around 12 and go up to around 17 or so for your average, low miled modded one.

As with anything, the STi is a much better car that's worth looking into if you have the cash to spend. If you only have less than 10k, look for a great, spectacular Bugeye IMO. Otherwise, I'd stick with an 04/05 WRX.

Also, you didn't hear it from me, but if you can pay 12-15, keep your eye out for Evo 8s. They're incredible cars.

So I checked my dip stick and its bone dry. Checking for leaks in the areas.prone to.leakage and replacing the filter/oil after work and inspecting for debris. Hopefully it just needs oil... but life is never that easy

Luckily mine burns oil since its so old but not a lot. My oil is good. I normally only have to top it off once between oil changes.

So I'm kind of perplexed with this whole issue. So far car has taken 3.5 quarts and barely showed above low mark. Haven't taken for a test run until.proper.oil level is reached.

Idk what's causing the oil to evaporate. Coolant is good and full, everything looks good under the hood, no abnormal sounds besides the one previously mentioned, no leaks visable, and no.smoke out tailpipe.

Wtf over...

This is the funny part. It doesn't smell or smoke at all. I don't see how oil evaporates without leaving some sort of evidence. Something is generating heat and.friction and eating.my oil... probably gremlins :/

Pulling the oil pan and checking for debris just need a gasket :/ maybe I'll buy a torque wrench while I'm at it ^____^ that and oil/filter.

On that note... DEBATE:

What oil do you use and recommend? How often do you change? What filter you use?

Only reason I bring this up is because both people I talk to.on this thread said two different things...

DISCUSS!

This, I use Napa gold oil filters as well. 0-40 in winter, 10-40 in spring/fall, 15-50 in summer. 0-40 or 10-40 is what I use for my GF's impreza too.

I use rotella t6 and whatever filter at the auto parts store (fram I think?)

If it was actually burning that much oil, you'd probably be able to smell it. My old Prelude would maybe burn a quart in between changes and it smelled terrible. I have no ideas at this point other than maybe you didn't put enough oil in at the last change. Just drive it with a quart or 2 in the trunk and keep a close eye on it.
