Field Insurance

I'm told that CIA Cossio Insurance Agency does not allow Nerf Rockets to be used for scenario fields. He insures a lot of fields so one of you should know. He is not responding to my requests - yet.

What other companies sell field insurance that DOES allow Nerfs to be used in scenario play?

Tanks a Lot,

Boom

I’m not sure if they allow the rockets specifically, but I would try NSERA.

I've always been interested in starting my own field indoor field. Especially here in Alaska. But i know insurance would kill me here.

Insurance is very cheap... that is the least of your costs. Plan on about 30 cents per player for insurance... Your real costs will be the building, compressors, turf, shipping of supplies to there, etc... Don't blame insurance costs for not starting - that will be extremely insignificant in the scheme of things.

I think your other concern up there would be related to the player base. Are there enough people concentrated in a specific area for you to derive the appropriate revenue to open and stay viable.

I went to a field here in Houston and they said something like "there was a special type of insurance for specialized weapons" and therefore they didn't allow them. because they said something like their insurance didn't cover it. What's up with that? It sounds to me like each field makes their own rules as to what they allow/won't allow. Boom and I have been talking a lot about this and we can't seem to get any straight answers.

??? What in blue blazes are you talking about?? Liability has nothing to do with damaging a gun.. it's what that gun does when it shoots little billy in the head. Liability insurance is about people falling, breaking bones, getting bit by a snake, getting cut on a piece of metal, getting an eye taken out... not about breaking guns.

There are three companies who handle the bulk of the field insurance: Cossio, NSERA, and APL.

They're pretty much different flavors of the same thing. Cost scales with the number of players you have, but there is a minimum price--probably a couple thousand dollars.

The minimum price is much less than 2000
It is nothing thats up to 300 to 600 players
I highly suggest you call all three and get three quotes (could save you hundreds)

What company are you refrencing?
I couldnt understand what you were saying for the most part.

Minimums at my field are a little less that $2,000 for up to 1800 players I think.

I am saying that if your having less than 600 people/visitsper year than your insurance should be in the 900-1300 range.
Which was more to make the point that was already stated, Insurance is not the financial obstacle to opening a field.
For people still hung up on insurance I was further suggesting they call all three companies previously mentioned, this way they can get 3 seperate quotes for comparison.

That's done strictly done through DerDer, but that's not for businesses, it's for the individual and they have to pay for it themselves. They might do something to make it available through field though, guess you would have to ask them.

shop around for insurance like my field a player can not have their feet above four foot off the ground. so are towers fort the players are two to three feet tall. insurance only has few questions you running tournaments, do you allow full auto, nothing on nerf ball launchers also yes tanks motorized vehicles make it more. so look around and talk to them.

OK, Since I started this thread....... Copy, Quote, Paste, Edit.

Which of the three allows:

.................................Cossio........... NSERA...............APL.

Nerf Rockets....................Y.N..............Y.N... ...............Y.N......

Armor Vehicles..................Y.N..............Y.N.... ..............Y.N......
(without personal
tank insurance)

Full Auto..........................Y.N..............Y.N ..................Y.N......

Note if there is an additional rider/premium for those items. How much if you know.

Thanks.

You'll find the NSERA and APL both pretty much offer the same policy.

To my knowledge none of them offer insurance for player owned motorized vehicles.
