Well sounds like the SLG is using more air than needed to cycle the bolt -- since the marker is based on a spool-valve design, the Oring size is a key point for optimum performance more so than a poppit-valve. You could try finding better fitting Orings so that the bolt is able to actuate easier, this in effect should lower your input pressure thus affecting the efficiency, at least somewhat. This is purely hypothetical of course
Then there's the simpler issue, bore size
What the user below has suggest is that if you are dry firing the SLG, the shot count is lower than it would be as opposed to firing with paint. At least I hope I interpreted that right
