i just bought an slg and filled up my tank twice....each time getting less than 100 shots before tank is empty granted its a 48/3000 but any clue?

Well sounds like the SLG is using more air than needed to cycle the bolt -- since the marker is based on a spool-valve design, the Oring size is a key point for optimum performance more so than a poppit-valve. You could try finding better fitting Orings so that the bolt is able to actuate easier, this in effect should lower your input pressure thus affecting the efficiency, at least somewhat. This is purely hypothetical of course
Then there's the simpler issue, bore size
What the user below has suggest is that if you are dry firing the SLG, the shot count is lower than it would be as opposed to firing with paint. At least I hope I interpreted that right

my slg is the same way even when i put paint through it. Im putting my bets the cheap cost means they had too sacrifice a few things. such as efficiency and a few easy upgraded parts.

no, something is wrong with your gun then.

I get a Hopper plugs 4 pods before the tank is empty. (68/3000)

it maybe just ur reg on ur tank is way too high. i have a 48/3000 tank an normal get a hopper and 4 pods and then tank is empty. So I put my buddys 68/4500 on my slg and i shot hopper and 1 pod an it was empty. found out that his reg puts out way too much for the slg so it is not effectient at all! try a different tank or reg for ur tank an see if you still have the same prob

something is definately wrong with ur gun. i use a 71/4500 tankand last game went with the 3000 tank., empire or rotor hopper. with full hopper and 4 pods with me on the field, i can use every ball and still have 3000psi left in my tank or smaller tank had 2000psi, same results with my ion gun. not sure if u have a leak an don't know it. only issue i ever had was the bolt sticking. cure to that was to polish the inside really good. no more sticking. also if ur useing alot of lube on the orings, that will cause excess blow thru...
