ram arm threading
What is the thread patern for the ram arms and what tools could be used to rethread them? Where could one find these tools?
Thanks

I think they're 8-32 threads... but I'm not for positive.
You would need a tap and die set which contained the proper thread sizes and then you would have to thread the parts you'd like threaded.
It would be cheaper, and much less headache, to buy a new ram.

6/32 is the correct size. Harbor freight will have a cheap set of tap and dies if your interested in trying it yourself

should've bought that mp4 i had fs . i bought one of those tap and dye sets from harbor freight and it was only $12. but you definately get what you pay for. new ram's the way to go. actually, if your threads are stripped, you're not going to be able to rethread that section to the original thread size.

I slipped up and typed in ram arm, i meant to say pump arm. If i had wanted to shorten the pump arm would it be the same process?
And yea unionballer i kinda wish i did get that mp4 from you. Oh well, maybe next time

10/32 die
just get some oil and use the die till you get it where you like. turn the die in some, turn out a little to remove some metal chip, apply oil and repeat. cut off access end when your done using the die. hardest part is centering the die if you are starting without any threading.

^^^^ that is the pump arm to the back block, if your pump arm is jacked where it meets the ram you use a 6-32 tap
