hunting in the kootneys last week, first time we've ever been skunked up there in 5 years, the worst we've ever done were 2 cow elk, during the day though it was getting up to 35 deg and we saw nothing but doe's, about 50 between all of us, a new guy and his son came up with us this year ****ing rig and a half, brand new 3500 GMC dually with a 30' trailer 2 quads on the sled deck 2 in the trailer and a queen sized bed with a full kitchen
my ride
had a pretty dope setup although we didnt get on the lake like we had planned, the wood siding trailer to the right of the picture is a mobile sauna on wheels, pump water out of the river for it and a wood burning heater

Nice setup. My brother-in-law just went up to Colorado with a few people and met a guy they knew up there. They went out and camped with a setup similar to that minus the campers and they had less people.

In between cranbrook and invermere and canal flats, there are a few massive cuts and a tonne of old logging in there, usually teeming with elk but just too hot this year

First day of 'yote season. Got out this morning, called one into 40 yards, shot just about 4 inches above it's head with a 440 grain arrow (340 shaft), yote runs. Try to look for arrow, starts to rain, go home.
What a bad morning... But on the bright side, it was a really small dog by wv standards. Only around 30 pounds

So what do you do with them once you shoot them? Are they an edible animal?
I cant wait to get up to my lease this winter and slay some hogs!

Dude, I'm from WV so everything is pretty much an edible animal. My gf's grandpa invited me over for opossum he had killed the night before around 2 eeks ago (not road kill lol)
I usually keep the fur or sell it. Here lately I'm saving them up and I'm goona make a bad *** comforter.

Me too! I'm wanting to make a nice rug or like you said a comforter. I hear that tanning the hide and all that jazz is pretty time consuming though. I may get on www.taxidermy.net and see what info I can find on there. Also, how would you clean the fur? I don't want something that still has fleas lol.

Tanning will take an evening. It's not all the much work, just tedious and time consuming.
You can also freeze your furs and then have someone to stretch them for you at a later time.
Clean them with water.
One day I'll make my gf some bad *** alligator/mink fur boots

The more I watched it, the more I love Duck Dynasty.
I'd love to duck hunt but have no clue where to begin.

We open first week of November. Hopefully we get some more water. It's been raining more and I think it's supposed to rain this weekend. I'll just hope for the best.
I did see some ducks this morning though on my way to class.

I've only seen ducks at ponds owned by the state or in rivers....
Sooooo yeah, I don't think ducks are a big thing in WV

What's the closest you ever shot a coyote at? I shot one at 20 yards, I was so surprised at how curious it acted and had no problem investigating what the hell I was doing in it's field.
