Thinking out loud here: If you anodized the gun, die it the color you want(but didn't seal it), the use the laser to esentially just etch out the dye in certain areas and then re dye it and seal it off.

ive seen anno with a layer of duracoat over top then the lazer cut a design deep enough through the duracoat to show to anno

if this is not the way they are doing it I bet you could use this as a way to get a colored laser job

It is possible to anodize something twice...I've done it (many times)! Looks to me like the HH luxe was anodized, lazered and then anodized again! All you would have to do is find a good spot to make connection, or break through ano to make the connection. Either way, the existing anodize would be unaffected! Just my two cents

This is the only pick that I have on my photobucket of a double anodize...I know it's not what we're talking about here but it does show that things can be anodized over anodize without damaging the first layer...
It's just a little pocket knife I did for my girl a few years back

That's not sharpie. It's the dual anodizing that people are currently discussing. Apply this to lasering.
