lol sorry, guilty of not checking this page since MAO! The Series Prizes will be "at least" what they were last year. There is a chance they will be sweetened a little, our team is still working on that. I should have the final confirmation either way next week. Thanks!

why did the PSP decide to put such an emphasis on World Cup for the lower divisions compared to D1 and Pro?

That does seem strange... Triple points does seem slightly extreme.. That's a blow to the teams that have played every event of the season and been consistent when a team can just play one or two and then play WC and take first in a series... At the beginning of the season wasn't it stated that WC was double points? Why has this changed?

The different divisions have different season structures.
Pro and D1 is a circuit of 5 events that all the teams play.
The other divisions combine scores from many different affiliated leagues/events, and Cup is the only event where all the teams compete against each other in the same event.
The emphasis also isn't really that much - Cup counts up to 300 points, while PSP events and affiliate championship events count up to 200 points, so Cup is really only 50% more than any other PSP event.

It's triple-affiliate-event points. It's only 1.5x regular season PSP event points.
PSP Affiliate: 100 points
PSP Event: 200 points
Cup: 300 points.

except that one psp score is only out of 100, and one score is dropped. after your top two events, it continues to minimize poor showings.
I just thought it looks a little funny, for example, that ac402 is ahead of boom in d2. 3rd, 3rd, 4th, and 4th sounds a whole lot better than 1st, 3rd, 6th, 12th.
Also in d2, for the difference between elevation and revo for 1st, if it was straight scoring like d1, they'd be 40 points apart, and revo would have to beat elevation by about 5-6 positions at cup to win the division. Now they just have to beat elevation by 1 position at cup. That seems like huge difference in scoring methods between the two divisions.
just my .02

same thing would apply to d1 rankings, if you implemented the d2 scoring on the d1 scores. it would completely flip the top two teams.
right now, texas storm needs to place 2 positions higher than top gun to win season. If you put in d2 style ranking, it flips the top two teams, and topgun would have to beat texas by 2 spots! thats a 4 position swing simply by implementing your two different ranking methods. that seams a little too drastic.

That's going to happen whenever scores are dropped, just the nature of not requiring teams to go to all 5 events.
