Looking to switch from ego to geo, what should i know?
Been outa the game for nearly a decade and decide to come back about a month ago. Picked up a ego6 and it shoots good, but i think i want something newer and ide like to shoot some differnt styles.
Geos style has really caught my attention, but being a college student i dont have alot of funds. Essentially im looking at trade my ego+cash for a geo, but have a few concerns
First, how does the original geo shoot? With the gt2 kit in it, one im looking at now dosnt have the st kit though. Read a few post of people saying the 2 was way better which makes me think the original isnt to amazing
Second, is my 45/45 enough for 4-5 pods and a hopper?
Last, do i need a LP tank? Only ask since i was at the field today and heard them say ure suppose to run a LP tank on an axe, didnt know if it was a spoolie thing or what
Just dont want to make a downgrade lol

Thats what i was wondering, i found a gorgeous blue one but it dosnt have the ST bolt and there pricey. Plus i cant even find one thats not sold lol
So now im only looking at the geo+, so i guess the question is can i do better then a geo+ with a 350-400 budget?

I agree with not getting a geo without the gst kit in it. You can use any tank on any geo, but the ideal opperateing pressure is around 500-550 psi. With a geo+ you would be cutting it close with 5 pods and a hopper off a 45/45 tank. A geo2 should be able to get it without too much issue.
The original geo without the gst kit does shoot nice imo, but the gst kit does leaps and bounds better. Helps the efficiency also. If you can though, try and shoot one before you buy or trade for one.

ok the geo+ and geo2 have two completely different regs.... the geo+ has the sl2 reg and the geo2 has the new sl3 reg which is what all the new ego 11's, csl's, geo 2.1's, and the all new geo3 has. the reg allows you to be able to switch tanks with out having to deal with changing the regs pressure. the geo2 has an upgraded propshaft that has a spring in it so it gives you way better effiecency and less likely of first shot drop. ive owned both and in my op go with the geo2 its less likely to crap out on you like the geo+. the geo+ was like planet eclipse's test for the spoolie. after that they modified a bunch to make them much more reliable and smoother and more efficient

Definitely pick up a Geo2 over a Geo+. You won't be disappointed. Plus the prices are dropping now. Probably can get one less than $600.

I know you're in the market for a geo but have you thought about an axe? You can find one for $300-350 easy, fits right in your budget without the hassle.

Axes with lurker bolts are ungodly smooth. But so are gross I would expect.

Yeah, id recommend waiting so you can get a geo 2... i went from a luxe 1.5 to a geo 2.05 and the following week i bought a brand new geo 2.1 (in sig) because they are amazing, havent looked at another gun since (until cup comes around).

Stick with the ego6 until you have the cash for a Geo2 or spring for the Geo3 and get the best Spool valve marker on the market. Or the Ego 11 The best poppet valve marker on the market. Whichever you prefer.
