Question disassembling Mini for anodizing?

Hey All, need a little advice.

I've sent my Mini off for anodizing but wasn't able to remove any of the magnets from the gun - the anodizer doesn't think this will be a serious problem because he seems to think he can get these off, but what he is worried about is the bolt guide pin coming out the back of the body, he's say's he wont be able to remove this and therefore won't be able to anodize this part.

Has anyone managed to remove this with their mini's or have any advice?

here's a pic in case you don't know what part I'm talking about, you can see it just sticking out of the back of the body.

Many Thanks

The pin is most likely steel so the anno wont harm it in anyway shape or form.

No but the stripping process will, and I have a feeling it effects the variables in the anno process so it wont come out as consistent - why else would the anodizer refuse to do the job with that part still in the gun?

All I know is that they are not supposed to come out. I wouldn't try and would just anno it as is... or you could try talking to some people on here who have annoed their Mini's or try posting up in the Voided Warranty.

was wondering if there was a pin that was supposed to be there...my mini does have that pin, but its been like that since i bought it

assuming someone probly grabbed it with visegrips and twisted until it came out

Yeah I'll try posting in the void warranty forum. Thanks

Yeah its not strictly necessary because the bottom screw should hold it in place anyway, although I would replace it either way

I would say that any part that comes on the Mini stock is necessary. I don't think Simon would design a gun with a pointless part added on for show.

What I meant was that the parts there more for convenience than anything else. All it does is guide the bolt so the screws will aline, the marker will function perfectly well without it though.

But does anyone know how to get the bloody thing off?

well my guns a bit more special than a normal mini too...it was a tampa bay damage practice gun, owned by Dave Bains, who let the guy who designed the axe take it for a while and do some custom "tweaking" the pin is not the only thing ive noticed missing or slight changes with the gun, but i will say i have no idea whats up with how well this thing performs. ive had 3 minis and this one just shoots faster, less kick and more accurate than my other mini with a some slight mods.

That sounds pretty interesting, any chance of some pics? does it actually look any different from the normal mini or was it just performance tweaks?
