Go with the mini. It's only a few parts away from an axe and all of those parts don't even affect performance (on/off ASA+reg is pricey at $80 but a really awesome part). Rails are gashogs and there isn't much to do for it without paying extra. You can get a mini to run pretty efficiently by adjusting the dwell and reg pressure. You can also get aftermarket bolts to improve efficiency but they aren't necessary. Mini is also about half a pound lighter but I don't know if you care about that.
A new rail isn't really going to be any better than a used one. Get the used mini, I love mine and have no inklings of getting rid of it anytime soon.

Thanks for the input! Im now pretty sold on the mini. I havent ever shot the rail but iver read great things about it online. it seemed to be pretty much a tie between the mini and rail 2011. I shot my buddies invert mini and loved it tho..
just need to find a mini now

be wary of the minis though, i know alot of people at the park i work at that have constant problems with them, from what ive seen its about 50/50 on reliability of them, some people never have any problems and the other half have problems every week

The minis have undergone some very quiet upgrades throughout the years. Little things to the bolt system that have helped it, why they didn't really say they were fixing issues is beyond me though

I have a first gen 07 PMR and had nothing but issues with it out of the box.
I have to blame Dye on that one.
Once I had the noid gasket replaced, I had no issues at all.
I've used it for over 5 years now and every time it goes down, it's always the same thing. Batteries or clean and lube.
I picked up a mini about 6 months later and had nothing but issues.
I had two different certified techs work on it and could never get the velocity any where close to consistant. +\- 40.

Get this i bought a pmr 07 replaced all orings and bought a tech t bolt installed that . Installed hater board with ul frame . Installed back cap metal. Still havent even put air through it . Spent so far 300$ in ups for this gun .
Am waiting to patiently for my tank to arrive from hydrotester.com
I think this gun is going to shoot tits.
Love this gun .
Before i was shooting a stock ion with vlocity and that was impressive .
I think efficiency is mostly improved with replacing all orings , buying a more efficient bolt and making sure everything is properly tuned/lubed .

im satisfied with mine. I love the sound signature, the fact that have not chopped paint in a while is also really good. The only dislike that i have is that the reg is proprietary and cp is the only company that makes a reg that will fit. Other than that the gun shoots REALLY smoothly for a $250 gun
I also replaced the steel braided hose with macroline so that it would be easier to remove the reg if need be.

In my opinion rails are great but for the extra money get a mini. The mini is easier to maintain and fix problems if you ever have one, but they both are great guns!!

I have a '13 Olive Rail. Upgrades- TechT Bolt- Virtue Board- CP '14 barrel- Violent Trigger- VMax Loader- standard 3k air tank.. Haven't had any problems with the AsA yet besides the base being loose from factory..but next on the list; with a 360 QEV to get a little more air efficiency( 10% is better than nothing).. I love my set up.. Shoots smooth, fast, quiet, and very reliable... Getting about 450 rounds each tank, not the best but work out just fine for where I play and ball budget.. Not the most air efficient but reliable and predictable.. My friend has a mini and is always missing during play due to tech issues.. I'm always out there.. Just saying.. Mini is nice but unreliable at times.

I'm still using my '07 special edition Rail and I play about twice a month. I don't shoot a lot through a day, maybe just a bag or two, but I couldn't be any happier with it. I did upgrade the bolt to a TechT. And I have replaced the battery harness twice, but other then that, I do not regret for a second, buying it brand new in 2007. I used to have a '08 Mini, and it was great. I would give it a slight edge over my Rail, but only in the slightest.

2011 Proto Rail
Picked mine up three months ago and love it. Upgraded to a CP on/off ASA and Dye lockdown collar. Already had a J&J Edge Elite kit, but still use the stock barrel when the bore match is the best.
