M14 with TPX Internals that uses Milsig Mags
Reviving this one from 2010, and good lord does it deserve the bump. I remember my jaw hitting the floor when this was revealed. I'm trying to preserve and showcase awesome custom builds, and this is one of the first ones I had in mind.
You can read all about it here.

I know, it sucks that Tippmann doesn't actually make this. If they made a high end milsim line, in the same way that some airsoft companies make them, I'm sure people would eat it up. I'm not even really a milsim player but I love the idea of mag fed paintball.

We used the Mag fed m4 variants in the police academy, for some reason with re-balls even, they shot horrible. Jammed or refused to feed, it is almost as if .68 is just too large.

Holy **** do want. I've never been a fan of Mil-sim guns but this is something else!
If he could find a way to make it run on 12 grams (probably isn't efficient enough to do a full mag on 12 grams) or a small tank in the forestock that would be amazing.

This is why .43 caliber(11mm) is what most training facilities prefer.

Aren't reballs known for jamming?

Well, it's TPX-based, and those get what, 25 shots off a 12 gram? He could probably get a mag and change on this.

25 shots with a standard tpx length barrel maybe. With this, it takes more air to overcome the friction and make sure exit velocity is around 280-290. Same concept with those retarded 18" and 22" barrels. If shot count is of no concern, they look cool. But you kill efficiency when you take your barrel beyond what the mechanical dwell of your marker is designed for. Correct me if I'm wrong guys. When it was explained to me, it made the most sense.

Optimum barrel length depends on the pressure the gun is shooting at. LP guns can use longer barrels effectively, high pressure guns can't so much. If anything I'd expect the long barrel to improve the TPX performance to some degree, or if they've gone past the optimum length, I don't think it would be any worse than the tiny stock barrel.

So the tpx is a low pressure marker? What do you think the optimum barrel length for it would be?

Yeah, it's a regulated gun. Supposedly factory set at 350psi.
At 850psi, a CCI Phantom's ideal length is supposedly about 8-11", and I'd say 14-16" is pretty good for most guns in the TPX's range. Slapping an 18" barrel on won't help here, but it's probably better than a 6.25 inch barrel, especially considering most of that extra length is just cosmetic overbored and ported front, with no friction on the ball anyways.
