I'm sure not just colorado saw a spike. everywhere did, and not just because of the shooting.
My local shop told me sales basically always go up before an election as well. and with even the mention of wanting to reinstate the AW ban i bet sales went up. Obviously Obama isn't going to say anything now, but it seems he has shown his side in it.
interesting story: I live in colorado but I am from wyoming. I was in wyo gettin hitched that weekend. stopped in my old sporting goods store (they generally have much cheaper guns and ammo). after a weekend camping I stopped back to pick up a gun I had seen and the price had doubled after the aurora shooting.

Just like the oil companies. The gun industry gouges the consumer and the gun/ammo purchasing public falls for the usual BS rehtoric.

Gouges them?

Funny I have built 4 of my AR's for under $700 each, you just have to know how to shop and be willing to start on a 80% lower.

So far the 3 AK's I am working on will end up under $400 by the time I am done.

A lot of this plus, I'm betting they believe that Colorado will enact some more gun control legislation and they want to get firearms before it happens.

Wrong, NFA 36 regulated fully automatic firearms and made then an NFA item, and did not make it illegal for companies to manufacture fully automatic firearms intended for the civilian market.

The machine gun ban of 1986 signed by comrade reagan and passed illegally by Charlie Rangel, banned the manufacture of fully automatic firearms for the civilian market.

Sad, then. She seemed like a capable and caring professional. And a mother to boot.

I'm honestly kind of shocked that you, Katsung, have posted something to this website that isn't some kind of conspiracy theory.

(They also use phrases like “new world economic order”, “new international economic order”, “new world”, or “house of world order” in place of “new world order” to describe this top-down system of totalitarian control. Again, these are phrases that have been openly used by presidents, prime ministers, military leaders, college professors, congressmen, and so forth, for decades. They were not invented by this website, or “conspiracy theorists”)
Do a Google search for "katsung47" in your off time. He's a bit looney.

Oh yeah.
You can google search a 7-word string from any of his posts and see mirror posts at various forums all over the net. The mods called him out on it a while back and he sometimes adds a word or two of "commentary" to get around the rules, but not always.

Anyway, Nurse Gallagher really is dead, God rest her soul.
What injustice that we live in a world where taking 12 lives earns you international attention yet saving dozens more, as she did, does not.

Truer words haven't been spoken in this forum in a long time.

How is she any different than the thousands of nurses that will die this year all who saved peoples lives? Or doctors for that manner? Or firemen? Or a million other things?

People die every day. Great people die every day. They all don't get parades. Sorry.

Who said she should have a parade? It's just ****ing ****ty that all it takes to garner widespread recognition is to murder a dozen people. You, me, anybody on this forum could go out and do that, but not everybody can deal with the physical aftereffects of such a depraved event.

It's not a comment on the way things ought to be, just the way things are.

It reminds me of a discussion I had in an ethics course in college which remains clear in my memory. The professor had proposed the idea that future generations would not remember us and that all of us would be nothing more than statistics yadda yadda....anyways, the "neocon" kid who's obnoxious pipes up that "people will remember me" and it became my mission life at the moment to retort loudly: "so how many people do you plan on killing?".

The sadness of it all is that is what people remember; the amount of people killed by an individual instantly more commonplace in discussion than the entirety of all whom were murdered.

Although separation between the population of that event and the general population acts upon how it's remembered in two ways: close people trend to remember the victims, distant people trend to remember the killer. This is at least how my experience has been.

For instance I can tell you who the shooter in Aurora was this year however I cannot tell you who any of the victims were. Yet for an incident in my college town where a youth bar owner was murdered (a saudi arabian kid getting his pilots license [suspicious] and some random black guy [go figure]), I can tell you who the victim was but I cannot bring to memory the names of his killers.

Moral of the story is that there will always be lunatics abound and it's up to individuals to defend themselves with an active mindset. It's why I burden my belt every day with a heavy pistol and hope my practice will pay off in saving my life. Hopefully it's never put to the test.
