new valken proton PROs/CONs

Hi all, our coach bought our field the new valken proton to mess around with and the first thoughts where promising but iv noticed a few issues that I would like you guys to leave your opinion on...

first off the gun was light and felt good in the hands and was easy to move from dom to nondom hands, changing modes was easy and the tool-less bolt was really nice. It shot really strait and was very constant for an out of the box marker. The looks of the marker resemble a morkal arorua, but up close it doesnt look as goofy as the picture portays.

But there were some issues iv noticed as well. first off the trigger was really stiff (like a tippmenn crossover almost) witch made it very hard to walk. The push/pull on/off button was unique, it was located on the inside of the trigger frame and when you would attempt to walk the trigger sometimes you may press the button forward witch shuts it off. It would also be nice if there was more length between the asa and the body, it seemed like you really needed to have the tank at the top of your shoulder to look down the barrel. it also had a ting sound that was alittle bit worse than the etha... But the BIGGEST problem I noticed is a major issue, when ramping the marker ran away from me a couple times and would continue firing without pressing the trigger, the only way to correct this problem was to turn it off, this was not only a major gun malfunction but a safety issue im concerned about.

all in all its a great shooting marker, and I beleave it deserves the $300 price mark with its clamping feedneck, on/off asa, no macrolines, tooless bolt and a great board, well worth it in my opinion. Please feel free to leave comments about your experience and problems you may have encountered with this marker, we are a valken dealer and were thinking of getting abunch of these for rentals markers, so please let us know thanks

seems like the trigger and running away can be solved by trigger and debounce adjustments.
So really the only downside is its a short marker, just like other markers on the market (i.e. G4, proto markers)

i love mine.. i used to shoot a ego11 and geo plus. honestly this gun feels better in the hands to me.. its insanely light and for 1/3 the cost i can over look the ting sounds and inefficiency.

mine also did do the trigger out of control while in ramping.. not sure if an debounce can fix this or not?

99shockerturbo what are the efficiency numbers you are getting . the company say you should get 1600 shots out of a 68 4500 . 1600 is good

Hey so I just won this gun at a tournament and I was having problems chopping paint really bad. I would say every 15 shots I chopped one. And that's with good paint and the eyes on. I was wondering if any of you guys had this problem?

Are there any imperfections within the barrel, feed neck, or breach? Like burrs or scratches.

I don't see anything. It's brand new. The barrel and feedback are good. I even used an upgraded barrel

i just got one and i really like it nothing that isnt easily fixed like the trigger. I also havent had a problem with hitting the power button at all unless i actually am trying to hit it. Also I havent had any problems with it running away on me.I would say adjust the trigger out more and see if that fixes it but if not try adjusting the debounce.

UPDATE: i snapped the feedneck off of the threading on a dive of unplanned intentions. and of course valken or any other aftermarket company havent came out with a replacment yet. so were screwed on demoing it for a bit.
