He did. Used it for a while with good results.

I've been looking at the old one.. I'm hoping the new one will bring down the used prices. there's also an older older version, those sell for 1.5 grand occasionally on craigslist.

This duck wouldn't sit still long enough to shoot a Brenzier, so I said the hell with it and shot the ****er with a 35L wide open:

It was trippy, usually the mallards here steer clear of people, but this pair walked right up to me. It's not every day I can get that much duck into such a wide lens on full frame.

the second version isn't bad at all, and because of the zoom range, there really isn't a lens like it. I don't expect to get 300 prime sharpness out of it.

I habitually shoot one stop or more over wide open, but I let go yesterday with the 35L and the results were pretty balls out. I'll have to try it more often.

Waffling back and forth on whether or not to snag a 50 1.2L or just save a $1,000 and pick up the 1.4

50mm 1.2 on a fullframe just ... mmmmmmmmmmm delicious

I've got the Sigma 1.4. If you get a good copy, it's pretty tight.

I'd go with the Canon version if anything. Probably just rent the 1.4 for an upcoming rehearsal dinner I'm shooting and see where it stands there. I know I'm going to want the 1.2 if I rent it so I'm going to start with the 1.4 and go from there.

I need a prime. All I have right now is my 28-70 2.8L and as much as I love it, I miss having the arsenal of primes I had before I sold all of my Nikon stuff.

Also, **** me for having XP dual booted on my machine and wanting to play BF3.
