Electra

After a several year break and selling my powder blue pilot, I am once again the owner of a Spyder product, and I must say, it is shiny.
Got an 09 Electra, and everything seems to be in order. I should have some air tomorrow to make sure, but until then just stripping and making sure it's clean and lubed. I have a couple of questions that were not easy to find in search, or were in threads of loooooong ago, so...
First question, though i think I know the answer; does Kingman mark refurb's with an R, stamped in the metal frame, by the name/above the trigger?
Next, I know the Electra doesn't need too many upgrades, but are the Alamo City delrin strikers a decent upgrade, or the Ti, such as the one italiancustom is trying to sell?
Last, and i am fairly sure of the answer to this as well, but blue board=stock, correct?

I found several threads for other things, like adding o-rings to the bolt, boring the valve, and shaving the coil set pin for 9V (though I'll probably just get a rechargeable). If any of you Spyder gurus think of anything else (especially cheap/free with work), let me know.

Ultimatepaintball.com has a tadao board for you Electra for 10.00. My son has a 09 electre and it works great. We picked up a freak barrel kit for it that's about it.

Thanks. That's why I was asking about the stock board. I knew the Tadaos were red, but wasn't sure if there were others that I was missing.

Does anyone know if the m7 VS chip will work with the tadao electra board, or do I have to have one specifically made for the electra board?

In other words, this:
http://www.ansgear.com/Tadao_Spyder_...pgradechip.htm
with this:
http://www.ultimatepaintball.com/p-4...all-board.aspx

I can't seem to find one specifically for the electra, but it appears that it would fit.

So I bored the stock valve to 5/16 last night. Fun project. The hole was easy, deburring was the difficult part.

I will still probably order an upgrade (EKO), but this should help until I sell some other stuff.

If you wish to go to a much lower pressure, drill out the holes in the front block. I'll post what size I drilled mine to later tonight. It should also be somewhere in one of the Spyder Stickies under Modifications.

Edit: Found it! Spyder Mod Thread

So, I finally got around to doing a halfback:
"Planned" design. Didn't want to go too crazy.

I started with a grinding wheel, and wasn't getting anywhere, so I ran to the Home Depot and found what I thought would be a handy dandy little bit. It did work better, but only survived @ 75%. I went to Wally World and got the heavy duty cut off wheels to finish up the rough cuts.

Rough cuts done.

Just a thoughtful tip - I cut up an old tshirt and rolled the pieces to stuff the chambers, keeping as many shavings as possible out of the body.

Cuts done, just gotta buff.

Whatcha think?

When using a bit like that on aluminum use wd-40 as a lubricant it keeps the aluminum from sticking to the bit. Nice job on the back half.

Yeah, that would have been smart, as you can see it's sitting right there.

Regarding the bolt upgrade question, I use the techt hushbolt and really like it. The marker shoots quieter now and I was able to lower my reg pressure. (no gauge to test but I was able to back off my CP reg a full turn). This was my first marker and now is my backup.

For the bolt, I actually designed my own from a couple of different tips. I added an oring behind the inlet, and ramped the inside of the bolt with epoxy. I only wanted the one o-ring for less drag, and I found the flow-ramp through searching, I think, for diy pooty mod. I'll take pics next time I get a chance.
