Hello, I received yesterday a brand new Ultralite 4500psi reg I purchased to use on may secondary tank (I use an smp550 on me primary and I am super happy with it).
I opened it to remove the 2 red shims, I wiped it out with a microfiber cloth and re-lubed it.. When i wiped it there were some burrs and black residue and i thought fortunately i wiped it..
Then I screwed it into my tank hand tightened and put mu tank in my gear bag, to be ready for a big game we are having down here on 14th of October.
Today as I was reading it came to me that I forgot to inspect the regulator (I do inspect closely every single part I get in my hands) so I took the reg out of the tank to inspect it and screw it back in.
In my surprise I noticed a crack at the bottom of the threads in the center of the vent groove. It seems that the crack is not just superficial.
Is it safe to use the reg?? I believe it is not but I don't know, that is why I am posting some pics of it.
I am also sad as it takes some time to receive goods shipped from the US and I am borderline on having a new reg (if it gets shipped next week) until 14th of October. So is it ok to use it with the crack in it???
I need a Ninja rep to confirm or deny as it is a matter of safety.
Thank you very very much and I am waiting as soon as possible for a post from ninja.
I made a thread because i didn't knew how many pics I am allowed to post in the **ask a Ninja tech** thread.
