First upgrade for Empire Axe

Okay so I have been wondering for a while what other people think of the empire axe and what should be replaced first. My vote goes to the feedneck,or the clamping mechanism anyways.

Stock feedneck comes with a clamping feedneck.

I would go to Lurker paintball's website and purchase the deal they have going on. A lurker eigenbarrel, lurker bolt and lurker lube for 60$ i think it is.

Defiantly a bolt to lower operating pressures to at least below 145 then your axe will be a great smooth shooting gun

I would go with a barrel first. A longer barrel allows for the ball to build up more pressure behind the ball allowing you to lower your pressure a little. Then get a an aftermarket bolt, Boss or Lurker and lower your pressure even more. Those are the only two pieces I recommend to get the best performance out of your gun.

Lowering your hopper half an inch doesn't really offer any performance gains nor does laser eyes, they are just aesthetic upgrades and personal preference.

Yes, it does, it lowers your profile. It doesn't affect gun performance, no, but will have a slight impact on your overall performance by making you ever so slightly harder to hit.

On the laser eyes, they are "claimed" to draw less power than the stock ones, so again, potential performance gain in battery life of the marker.

New barrel for sure, and invest in a redline grip! Trust me!

definitely a barrel or barrel kit first. that stock barrel's bore is huge.

bolt (lurker or boss) will let you run at a lower pressure and change the sound signature of the gun.

Feedneck will drop your hopper slightly, but it may screw with your line of sight.

the stock eyes work just fine. if they go bad, then replace with laser eyes if you want a minor upgrade.

ive never owned a stock axe but the redline is very nice, the oled works like an eclipse board, never used one before, read manual for 2 minutes and figured out everything. shot it with the stock bolt at 160 psi, shot fine, put in a boss bolt, dropped it to 140 and it shoots even smoother and a bit more quiet, havent got to chrono it yet but i assume i can lower the pressure even more. got a full freak kit with mine so i just bore my paint nicely and it shoots nice n straight every time.

YES, this is the first thing a new Axe needs.

After that a new feedneck, or a Redline...

Your performance, not the guns. It lowers the profile a half an inch, ohh boy, I can eat more McDonalds now, I have a half an inch to spare. Trust me, if that half an inch is so important, you still have 6-8" of goggle behind it that will make a nicer target to shoot at.

Claims are not facts, they are marketing hype to get your money. I haven't really noticed my eyes drawing anymore power then normal, did you ? Why fix something that aint broke ?

I know that it comes with the clamping feedneck, but at least with the newer axe the feedneck screw is too long and makes it nessicary to either chop down the screw or replace the feedneck.

#1 - Barrel.
#2 - Hockey tape for better traction on the foregrip.
#3 - Boss/Lurker bolt.
#4 - ... Trigger? Especially if you've got larger hands. I can help you there!

Best performance to cash ratio is a bolt. Grab a boss bolt and it'll shoot much better. Next should be a barrel, something around .685. A cp one piece or lurker barrel will set you back $30. For $60 you can have a major increase in performance without emptying your wallet.

New board, feedneck, trigger, eyes, those are all things that you don't really need but are definitely nice to have.

Actually, you need a good small/med bore barrel to get the most out any of the aftermarket bolts, so I would get the barrel first.

True, I'd get both at the same time

With most markers yes. With the Axe there is quite a difference with a new bolt and barrel.

Technically you don't need any upgrades. But the OP is obviously looking for improvements.

I just got a freak..I have a boss bolt, but I use my stock bolt more. Way more consistent and just shoots better. So basically just the barrel..
