Just recieved my first Clone today in the mail. Broke it down right away to get familiar with it and relubed it. Threw some ultra evil in it and shot about a hoppers worth in the front yard. Broke 2 balls toward the end, I believe it might have been caused by the detents as they are fairly stiff and stick out somewhat far (trimmed them slightly and feels gentler). No paint in the breech but started right at the beginning of the barrel so either way Im certain it was in no way the guns fault.
Initial thoughts:
-light, love the ergo's. feels natural in the hands. looks beautiful.
-Efficiency, used around 500 for the total of about 200+- shots, so im assuming about 1500 shots give or take off a full 68ci. Excellent!
-Accuracy (or perceived accuracy), seemed to be much tighter groupings than my 2.1 with same paint and barrel. I'm assuming that is due to more consistent even flowing air through the drivetrain. Great for accurate snap shots.
-Eyes/Board/Trigger, I like the eyes being illuminated, makng it easier to troubleshoot. I also like the way the board is laid out, its simple straight forward easy to use. Less selection than an eclipse board as far as options, but I prefer that it has less BS sitting in the board I will most likely never touch. To the people that complain of OLED in the light, this is my first marker with an OLED board and I just went through it in DIRECT sunlight, ZERO issues seeing anything. Trigger feels a little "jiggly" maybe. But I had no problem hitting 17-BPS in straight semi, so its fine for me.
-Maintinence, very simple to perform standard maintenence. The expanded views in the manual make it near impossible to mess up. I would say ease of maintinence to be somewhere between a 2.1 and a dm12. very simple just a few more orings.
-Overall I am very impressed with this marker. It looks feels and performs great. Looking forward to using it next weekend.
Great job Macdev, here are some pics of the setup for anyone interested.
