mini poppet spring

after cleaning and lubing my newly acquired used mini, i either lost the poppet spring or just have version 1 or the previous owner lost it. after checking the sticky i still have a couple questions. anyway, what type of performance issues can i look out for? and could i put a replacement spring in even if it is only version one?

You will need the poppet spring. If you lost it, you can order another one here (part #79).

depends on the version of your poppet... V1 did NOT use a spring. Look at your poppet sealing face. The Version 1 was brass with just the sealing tip face itself being nylon
The V2 or V3 the entire sealing tip is nylon and both use a spring.

I forgot to put my spring back in my Axe and it fired fine as far as I could see. But it was only dry firing.

I have v1 and v3 mini, the v1 has no rear poppet spring. The v3 does have a poppet spring.

I believe the poppet spring was to prevent having to reset the poppet. The spring keeps the poppet sealed. I would imagine it isn't totally necessary on a v3 (just manually reset the poppet) but is nice part to have when you need it.
