Will these threads operate as quasi-GDT threads, or will discussion be strictly limited to the topic in the thread title?

Strictly limited to the topic in the thread title, which is why there is a presidential election GDT and an images thread.
I'm tired of the clutter, it only helps the trolls avoid my all seeing eye. This way we will be able to better supervise and (if it's needed) guide discussion back on track.

Don't necessarily support Obama(I tend to lean towards the right wing) but he will receive my vote this year. Romney is a backwards homophobe looking to destroy our country. At least, that's what he makes himself look like when he speaks.

Romney is one of the worst candidates for president imaginable. He has no discernible political substance other than to be the opposite of Obama at any given time. There is no reason whatsoever to vote FOR the man, his actions and rhetoric cover so many different and conflicting viewpoints that he is basically primordial political ooze.

The pro theocracy, fear mongering republican party of today makes me a die hard democrat. It's almost scary to vote for any republican when you hear the legitimate lies and horrific slander at places like the voters values summit.

A die hard Democrat? Even after what they pulled at the convention?

I was under the impression that the conventions helped the Dems much more than the GOP.

linkGallup poll: President Barack Obama got a modest bump in support immediately after last week's Democratic National Convention, with 50% of registered voters now saying they would vote for him if the election were held today, up from 47% before the convention. With the concomitant two-point drop in Mitt Romney's support, Obama's advantage has expanded from one percentage point to six points.

Are you referring specifically to the "take 'God' out and then put it back in" thing? Clearly that wasn't significant (as seen in polling data). I'm not quite sure what else they "pulled" at the convention. I would even argue that the conventions hurt the GOP (Ryan's speech, the lack of specifics, etc) more than the Dems. Maybe I'm missing something.

All of that is irrelevant. What I am talking about is the faux vote to amend the platform, the mockery of parliamentary procedure, the utter disregard for the delegates and their purpose.
I mean... hey, if you are cool with your party giving it's members the finger and the upper crust doing whatever they think is best without your consent then by all means be a hard core Democrat.

What's worse in your opinion: amending words in a party platform, or denying voters their due voice at the convention?

I'm confused. All I hear about it "Ron Paul getting screwed" and "The GOP convention was corrupt". And now you are criticizing the Dems for a faux vote over some completely irrelevant amendment their platform? In reference, the "God and Jerusalem" amendment seems rather small.

Let's not pretend here, the Democrats had a great convention. The other side will always try to find some bull**** problem with it when they got crushed but they are pissing into a hurricane. There is absolutely nothing that happened at the DNC that would do anything to lower a Democrat's support for the party, and it made significant inroads with unaffiliateds.

Rep Paul and the GOP have nothing to do with the DNC. Why would you bring it up?
Im not criticizing the amendment to the platform.
