Ok, so here's the deal. This is my three man team's first tourney together and we will be playing on the NPPL Chicago 2011 Layout (http://www.catshackreports.com/wp-co...04/layout2.jpg) We have a few strategies but we would like to hear more from you. If you have seen the actual event and you know what works for 3 man, that would be much appreciated. Thanks

They're using a 7-man layout for 3-man? Are you sure about that?

Take as much ground as you can off the break. At those distances, with so few guns rolling, it should be easy to get to the 30/40 early. You'll also be able to go up the middle very quickly. The biggest mistake you can make is slow playing a layout that big with few bodies on the field.

Yeah im sure that is the layout. They are playing 7 man and 3 man on that layout. Doesn't really make sense but that is what we thought. I am generally back/mid so im thinking getting all the way to that can at the 30 or to the car wash at the 40 but what about my teammates? And is the giant wing a good spot?

If you're going up the middle, get to the carwash where you won't get pinched out. You can hold down your side of the field until the other team is behind you in that spot. Your teammates should already know what they're doing... 1 guy to each side.

I think that is a good strategy but what about the Giant Wings? And also the two Doritos near them? We have been talking a lot about that. Thanks!

Don't over think it. You're playing a low level 3-man. Roll your guns, talk with your teammates, and spread the field.

Agree alot with eforce about not over thinking.

I play 3 man on PSP and nppl fields and they play very different.

On big 7 man fields its all about gaining ground off break. If you wanted to you could probably make the 50 off break every time. What I look for are the key bunkers. Ones that you can do work on both tapes from. Also playing those big fields its all about wrapping and catching people moving up. My team never lost a game when we went past the 50.

home guy, right on the break lane the snake. someone gets in that snake theres not much you can do cause the snake 50 covers it really good. if someone does get in though make a sacrifice rundown then fill in the snake immediately.
