If you find the axe comfortable I found it to shoot a lot smoother than the Etha. On top of being a little more expensive, it's also a little heavier (I think, might've been the tank/hopper).

That's about it, smoother shot, different ergos and costs more money. Hold each and see.

my personal etha? I'd take an axe all day long. Mine is nothing but problems. broken feedneck, had to have the battery harness re-soldered because it pulled out, and it still drains batteries, and this weekend the ASA threads somehow froze up with my ninja pro reg and destroyed both.
I've never had a problem with an Axe you couldn't fix with a couple o-rings.

It seems like Etha's are still a hit or miss type marker. Something that PE will fix in the next year I hope. The Axe is a proven system and I haven't seen any real problems with it when talking to my friends that own them.

Biggest thing to keep in mind is the Etha you can service your reg without voiding your warranty. The Axe you can't.

That, and the reg on the Etha is MUCH better than the one on the axe.
and the stock barrel is actually a barrel, and not a piece of left over pipe they threw in a box.
I think the Etha in general is the better choice, but with anything that is brand new, there will be some bugs.

Both? I like the ergonomics of the etha, and PE generally builds a very high quality product. Mine just isn't one of them I suppose. I did buy it second hand so perhaps the previous owner used it in some sort of Voodoo ceremony and its got bad mojo or something.

@ element Paintball....

If you reach out to me on Monday at the shop in RI...I'll arrange to fix that for you.

Should be easy enough to get that Etha back up and running nicely for you.

I've either bought replacement parts, or had things fixed when they went wrong. The gun is fairly well sorted for now. Only thing I couldn't fix was my Ninja reg, which died a horrible metal shaving filled death.

I love my Etha, it shoot ropes to me it is better shooting ball on ball then the geo and a geo + I have shot a geo 2.1 but did not have my Etha to compare it to and shot a geo 3 the other weekend. If you want a tubed gun like the Etha or axe it is had to say I have not shot an ax but I have shot a mini to me the Etha was better on getting the volicity more accurate mine is like -+5 fps the mini I shot over the coronie was like -+15 and it did not shot all that great down the feild it was all over the place if you where in the back or med you had to be on top of people to hit them. I know the axe a few people have then and say there better then the mini. I hope this helps like the guy said before pic up an ego 08 but timmies for me I'm not a big fan I had an 08 ego it shot great and my friend pick up a used one it shoots about the same as the Etha. His to me was a little bit better in the back but not by much. Over all I would go Etha over axe and a nice 08ego over Etha. Just because the ego 08 has hardly any flaws.

Yeah there still high in price setting around 400-450 yeah it is hard to justify that much for an old used marker. I shot my Etha with reballs to brake in the reg and I noted that it would jam the bolt back every now and then it did it to me twice, but PE makes a reball bolt for 20. I don't play a lot of reball to justify the cost. I thought I would let you know if you do play reball that there could be a jam. With the Etha set up stock.L

I know I'm gonna get crap for this but IF I strictly had to choose between the Etha and the Axe, it'd be a very close call but I'd take the Axe. Why? The Axe is smoother, it is a great shooter (it feels like a high-end) and in some conditions is a bit easier on paint (although with my Etha I have zero issues.). The Etha shoots perfectly well too, but the feeling with the Axe is better. Although the Etha trigger (well for me at least) trumps the one on the Axe, easily.

Both guns have very solid points in their favor. Really tough call. I'd say personal preference would be the deciding factor. I will say though that you do get more value with the Etha (better barrel, better manual, better ASA, better feedneck, better board, better trigger, better packaging, etc.)
