I understand baseball only because there is so many right handed people that play, when a lefty steps up to the plate the pitcher gets confused but i dont understand what is the advantage in basketball.

When you're younger it helps. I was a left handed PG. The majority of players are right-handed so when the average kid defends someone attacking the left side of the hoop is less common and harder for them to defend.

It holds true throughout all levels just less of an effect as you move up.

Not many sports like paintball where you have to know how to play both left and right handed

I play baseball for my high school. I'm a right handed pitcher/first baseman, but I hit left handed, and the advantages are amazing. First, being in the left handed batter's box gets you that extra step or two down the line to first base. Secondly, if the defense shifts at all, I can just flick a ball down the left field line and get an easy double. And lastly, like said earlier, most of the pitchers are right handed which makes it easier for us lefties to see the ball out of the pitchers hand.

never got into baseball to understand the advantiges of left handed.

Bowling lefty is nice cuz not many people bowl left handed and you have the whole left side of the lane all to yourself. You know how the lane works and no one can change that but you. The lanes are oiled evenly and every time the bowling ball goes down the lane it picks up oil making the lane get more grip, thus making the ball curve in the pocket that much sooner. Unpredictable

I'm right handed, shoot rifles and shotguns with my left hand, can shoot pistols with either, but can only write with my right. Go figure..

I'm a lefty and that makes using markers with hoppers a nightmare. I converted my 98 to mag fed and this was one of the primary reasons. Now I run dual pistols because they're no problem at all being left or right handed.

Like many lefties, I've learned to deal with the right-handed industry and their products for the most part.
