getting bounces

How often do you get bounces in paintball? my local field sometimes uses not so great paintso that I get way more bounces (even within 2 metres of shooting someone at 275 velocity) then I do get breaks some days. It does force one to aim a bit more carefuly at hard objects on your target. anyone have any crazy stories about bounces and stuff?

I wear baggy clothes to get more bounces. For some reason my old arm pads use to always get bounces on them.
Use better paint helps a lot.
I usually shoot around 295-298 and never really bounce people much.

Half the hits on me are bounces. I have an ugly habit of sticking out my elbows, but the pads catch bounces very often. I get bounces off my buddha belly if the shooter is more than 20 ft away.

I've gotten a bounce off a headband at least once, even a bounce off my Proflex bottom (which felt like a punch in the face).

I've also gotten a bounce straight off the dome from a lobbed shot, which i just called myself out anyway cuz it hurt so bad.

I get bounces often as well. Usually because the parts of me that mistakenly get exposed are those with more padding or softer flesh areas; shins, shoulder, elbow.

I get a few here and there. I get bounced mostly on the front of my jersey. I usually only wear a dri-fit Nike Combat compression shirt underneath and my jersey is un-padded.

I get a lot of bounces on myself too, worst was when I got a bounce on my head, no toque or hat or anything. less then a metre away. my field limits the fps to 275 so I assume they were shooting somewhere around that. It hurt so damn much, I had a massive bump on top of my head. It suprised the guy so muchthat it didnt break he didnt fire another shot and turned around and shot him back. paint was rock hard that day.

OUCHTOWNPOPULATIONYOUBRO.

I know how that feels though. I wear a black baseball cap backwards like the OG's do. Sometimes I'll take a shot right on top and it'll bounce off. What's worse is (including the pain factor) when you feel the hit and call yourself out then walk off the field. After a moment you rub it with your fingers to find it was a bounce.

This past weekend I took a bounce to the hopper. Normally it wouldn't be a big deal, but I was playing pump and had my 50rd winchester hopper. Well it broke a few balls in the hopper and all the balls were cover in paint. Needless to say I didn't get anyone out that game, I also got shot on the move. My only decision was to try and bunker someone, it didn't work out so well.

I don't ever get bounced because my body's so rock hard...

Baggy clothing really does help. I get bounced a LOT, especially off the break.

One time during a game a rental player accidently shot a team mate in the hopper, the ball hit the hopper and it completely blew off the side of the hopper, broke most of the paint inside too. it was a standard 200 viewloader gravity hopper. the paint fired was different colour then paint in the hit hopper, we even found the unbroken bounced ball after too.

i got a bounce off of the visor on my mask last time i went paintballing. I usually get bounces off of my stomach, even though im skinny as hell. One time when i was moving up the field i got lit up and took about 10 shots to the stomach. I called myself out because of the pain, and i figured one of the hits had to break, but they were all bounces lol.

It all depends on the paint and humidity. Pads do help a lot with bounces

In rec ball I get decent amount of bounces.

In a more tournament setting, not too many bounces, since I try and play tight and often only get get shot in the gun/hopper/mask, knuckles ( ).

Bounces are typically because of paint choices... If you use a low end hard shell paint it often bounces instead of breaking.

Me personally, I call myself out if I am hit and feel it. Regardless if it breaks or not.

Course, I play woodsball, and I don't really care how many "kills" I get, or keep track of stuff, I just want to have fun, and if someone gets a move on me or an angle and happens to get a bounce, they still hit me, and to me, that is the point of the game.

I very rarely get overshot, as I am quick to call myself out when hit, as I don't have to check to see if it broke. I just raise my hand, and call out. Sure I end up in the dead box often, but I think it helps me play better, as any hit counts.

Plus, it is an integrity thing. If a kid gets a shot on me and it bounces, that kid GOT me, sure he might have been using cheap paint and it bounced, but he still shot me out...

I give him credit for the kill, as to me, that is good sportsmanship.

Nice of you but not something I'd do. I recognize paintball is a sport and not war games. The rules of a sport are that the opposing player must leave a mark on you to get an elimination. No mark.....No elimination.
If its BYOP then you should have bought better paint.
If its FPO then we both have to deal with it. So it's even.

Playing hits alone I will reserve for Airsofters. For paintball, in my opinion, leave a paint mark or it didn't happen.

for me it depends on the senario. playing against newer players/woods ball, i get hit no break = calling out. Once i step into a speed ball field with experenced players, like soul said, its break or it didnt happen

I'm with Free Enterprise. You get an angle on me and bounce one or two, I'm out. Nice move. Nice shot.

I also have major issues with things like padding and padded jerseys, or deliberately loose clothing, specifically designed to induce bounces. Not cool.
