Wish I found this thread before I bought my tippy. Now I'm in for an Ego.

My only suggestion is not to be intimidated by teams. Ask if you can join especially if you're a newb. Teams will help you on the field. A lot of items don't come with instruction manuals or are somewhat unclear and most teams have a tech guy to help you when you have trouble. (and you will have trouble)

Etek 4 is going to be the best marker, if you're looking to save some money and don't need fully high end performance, I'd suggest the Etha.

If you have any other questions about your choices, let me know!

thanks? I guess, its just a summary of what they did. I think its pretty important for players interested in buying from the gardner brothers to know their past. No company is perfect but those guys take bad for the industry as a challenge.

I'm conflicted almost everyone says the GOG eNMey is a good starting marker, yet people don't really like the company.

I would like to know your opinion on Virtue Vio (Contour or Extend) mask. Did you omitted Virtue in the masks list for some particular reason?

Probably since the last update was in 2014, they probably hadn't been produced yet.

I've tried on both Vio models, and I usually run an E-flex as my main. The Extend is similar to the E-flex in that it gives you more breathability and is suited more for larger faces. I'm going with the Extend as my backup mask in the Virtue deal .

The Contour is closer to the Dye i4 in terms of size, definitely smaller and closer to the face (at least on mine). I think it's definitely geared more towards those with smaller heads.

Try on the masks if you can before you buy one, everyone's heads are shaped differently.

That was one of my suspicions but I wasn't sure when Virtue started to produce these masks.

Since I'm a beginner in this sport I started to research as much as I can to buy the best entry level gear. This post (and this forum) are the most useful source of information that I've found.

I've ordered the Extend + Spire 200 + extra chromatic lens in the Virtue deal as well. However, I can't try on any mask except the rental ones since there aren't any paintball shop nearby (the package ships to Paraguay in South America). I'm almost sure the masks provided on the field are single lens and I wanted to invest in a good mask, I hope I made a good choice

Thanks for your comments, the Dye i4 would be my first choice if it wasn't for the deal

I keep going on my research on tanks and after that I'll go for the marker B)
