Yup, this is a good way to do it. My concern is the bolt pin. Sheared in half like it is, it's not very strong and might bend or break with extended use.

I agree, that's why I cut only about 2/5 of each pin off. also, that is not the actual bolt pin, it is a part of a non-threaded stainless steel bolt. Judging from how long it took to cut with a hacksaw, it seems very sturdy. It still didn't take nearly as long as cutting the striker with a dremel though. I finished the whole mod in about half an hour.

I just take off the back cap and push it in, in my halfblocked tl-r there is an empty slot in between the tubes. It looks like O=O.
