I understand the trigger now, why does the, what I am assuming is the eye receptical, look like it takes a plug and not the flat thing I have ?

The eye socket is actually missing in that pic - it goes in the little white-outlined box with the 4 solder joints right next to the large 5 pin molex connector, which is the programming port. The other 2 pin white sockets to the right and just above the programming port are for the solenoid and 05 Speed toggle switch, respectively. Going down from there you have the LED, the dip switch panel (which is for tourney lock), and the 2 buttons (you can see them just below the "V" logo). If you were using the board in a gun other than the 05 or 06 Speed, the top button is used to power the gun on and off. On your speed you will continue to use the toggle switch, which as I mentioned before will be plugged into the white 2 pin socket next to the solenoid port (they are labeled so you won't confuse them).
