yes but would probably banned from their field if they found they had a tank that was illegal

My Stako is completely empty every time I fly, and I have never had an issue.

Also, the Stako tanks do not "explode" as some mistakenly think - no more than any other make of tank.

All a ruptured liner would do, is leak..... and I have yet to hear of one, in the many years Stako have been in existence.

If people think the most overregulated society in the world (the European Union) would allow tanks that are in any way dangerous, they are idiots

And yes, a Stako cannot be pressure tested after 5 years, and you have to throw it away by then, so you definitely pay more, to save around 8-9 ounces during the lifespan of the tank...... personal preference if you think that is worth it.

That will forse the trapped air to "leak" out the neck. I usually leave it for about 30 minutes @ ~800psi. After that i fill it as fast as the filling station allows.
I have yet to see a tank of any kind blow.

So that's potentially $600 over 15 years compared to a $140-$160 investment initially with say $20-$30 every 5 years over 15 years total.
The monetary value alone is a killer for a tank that is lighter then all the rest on the market.
Thats WAY too much money and work. To fill the tank, "fill a little, wait and then fully fill"? Too many tanks on the market already that are readily capable of flash filling and cost far less. Ninja, Crossfire, Guerilla and the rest will have nothing to worry about

LOL - you don't need to leave it for 30 minutes

All you need, is to fill the first 30-50 PSI slow, to inflate the liner - then you can flash fill to your hearts content

Tanks are only ever completely empty, if you fly with them anyway, so this is only an issue for people playing International event or nationals.

Okay. That's a little better but not by much lol.
Seriously though the non-rehydro would be the deal breaker for me.

With the release of the SAFER ,,Fuel'' tanks these Stako's are not interesting anymore.

At least not for the European market, Safers can be rehydro't like every other tank and are just as lightweight / costs the same. They also come with a rubber coating, so no need for a bottlecover.

A 73/4500(1.2l) Safer weighs in at 1lb 8,34oz (690grams) empty/without regulator btw. Lightest tank on the planet in that volume.

The DOT(US) and PI(EU) testing methodology's are not that different. I think shipping out bottles, getting them DOT tested and then selling them on US soil is just to costfull. Shame, because they are really great tanks and I'm 100% sure you guys would like them very much!

right as we have stako geniuses on here that keep saying they are dangerous and bad products ,answer me one question,if this product is not available there how can you make an informed decision.
on a side note this is an American product as stako is owned by an American company,do you believe they would have bought stako if their product was dangerous

da oreo you know nothing, lets get this right a guy put oil in his fill nipple,
which caused a fire in his bottle .this is what you all go on about the biggest laugh is that could be any bottle ,luxfer ,dye, ninja etc etc.
now i know the guys that supplied the air at the event where the bottle went boom and they said it was caused by user error nothing to do with the bottle and still fill stako bottles, these guys do most of the rehydro tests within europe of bottles, the company is called hpac and they supply the air for the milleniums, this is where they had the problem, and they are happy to fill stako bottles.so please stop dissing something you know nothing about or should all euro ballers start put crap up like that about all USA products

paintballguru you dont get out much do you ?

a liter is a system from europe .. you know that small continent that brought you some more enjoyment to your american ways of life.

And yes one did blow up many many many moons ago .. though alot of other tanks have malfunctioned aswell peronaly i dont think iwould use stako but i would def not use a safer they are just horrible...

That and the weight savings isn't that much. The last one that came out the weight difference was equal to about 50 paintballs... So $400 to save about 1/3 a pod's worth of weight.
