New acquisitions
Hi there everyone,
I recently acquired a 2004 JMJ Viking and a 2003 jurassic goo Excal. For some reason I cannot get either of them to shoot over 250 fps regardless of how I adjust the HPR. The LPR on the Viking is set at ~80 but I don't have a LPR tool for an Excal (as this is my first) so I don't know the LPR setting on it.
I Tried upping the dwell (in small increments) on the Viking in hopes to change the FPS but no change there either. The dwell on the Viking was at 9.
I have taken them both apart to clean and oil them thoroughly and did not see anything out of the ordinary. Each marker was tried with several new batteries, a high and low pressure tanks, different loaders, old paint, fresh paint, reballs and anything else I could try that was different with no luck.
Anyone have some ideas before I have to send them both off to Jared?
If you have questions about the setups I will do my best to answer them.
Thanks for your help!

Change the #10 orings on the hammer and ram stems. What board do you have for them?

Rings should be good on the excal. Rebuilt the entire gun before it went to 711clerk. I could send you the tools for the excal if you want to borrow them.

Only things I can think of that will keep an 2003 excal from chronoing past 250 are.
Using the wrong bolt
HPR not putting out enough pressure
Paint too small for barrel
Dwell not high enough
Sticky hammer
Weak hammer solenoid connections not putting out enough current
Hammer solenoid orings leaking
Hammer solenoid not seated correctly
Valve not fully opening
Failure to promptly shot nitwits that don't recognize the authorite of the brick

The rippin' and tearin'

May not be relevant to your exact issue, but isn't that LPR a bit high?

Ok, here is hopefully answering some of the questions asked.
The Viking has a Tadao board and the Excal has an Ebisu board.
It sounds like the Excal has been rebuilt as far as orings go somewhat recently so that shouldn't be an issue.
I do not hear any leaks coming from either gun so there shouldn't be any problems there.
I don't have an HPR tester to test the output from the HPRs.
Does that help to narrow down the issue?
Thanks for all of the replies everyone.

New, fresh batteries?
Paint to barrel match on the excal? Rollout can drive you mad when chronographing closed bolt guns.
What are your tadao settings?
