50 Cal Pump
I really haven't been following the 50 cal movement very much, but is there a 50 cal pump available? If not, a 50 cal semi that might relatively easily be converted to a pump?

Nothing out there? I'm looking for a small .50 cal pump I could slap a 3.5 oz. tank onto and dial it down to about 175 to 200 fps (actually looking for about 40 - 50 of them). Something that will stand up to some use and abuse though.

I know there was someone working on a .50 Sniper kit, but I don't think that went anywhere. With the Splatmaster paint coming out, I think it'd be interesting to see something in a nice pump come to market.

You have to resort to a splatmaster probably but there is an option of converting an etek or ego into 50 cal with pe's kit then slapping on one of those ego pump kits that I saw on mcb

Yeah, doesn't look like it. I was hoping to find something that would force people to shoot slow and also hurt less than 68 cal. Sort of like the JT Splatmaster, but more durable so it could be rented out. Also would like it to shoot a little faster, probably in the 175 to 200 fps range.

Reiner,
Have you talked to Kee about the Splatmaster? While it is not metal as you would like, it is economical. We are definitely going to do group rentals with these. We already have a group booked for September 8th.

I assume he wants these for rentals. CCM pumps are reaalllly expensive.
However, we do have a few 68 caliber CCM pumps that we rent as upgrades at our field. We charge a $10.00 upgrade fee. They get rented every weekend.

Since you are a field, why not just pick up some good, cheap pumps and dial them down to 175 fps? I've played with a 'misbehaving' pump that was shooting in that range and it does hurt a lot less and will still break if you get in range.

I just don't see the reason for 50 caliber pump, when .50 cal paintball is just dead.

The customers I want to market this to, don't know it's dead. They are unbiased.

People that say .50 cal is dead know nothing of a fields standpoint on it. I work at a field in Arizona and we love the 50 cal out customers love the 50 cal and we are strong GI SPORTZ supporters Steve Rabb has supplied us with the paint and we are only word of mouth with the 50 cal and we have anywhere from 50 - 90 kids in one session.
Now for a pump I did see a customer take a mech spyder and he HB welded a trinity pump kit on it and did some crazy stuff to it and it worked blew my mind away.

Yes there are 50 cal pumps, saw one at my local field. No the gun was not converted from 68 down to 50 cal. The only down side is that they are spring loaded shotguns. No hpa or co2 required. But hey 50 cal shotgun go figure

I'm guessing that yes, he is.
Honestly, if you want a .50 pump your best bet is to buy a Spyder Opus and spump it.

I'm actually looking to do this with mine. The conversion looks rather simple.
