QEV 360, fire bolt, banjo

So, the fire bolt is lighter than the stock one, thus being more efficient, lower recoil and so on.

Where can I find more info on what the qev360 and banjo do? Are any of those worth it at all if I only play semi auto, with gravity fed hopper?

The QEV will vent the air in the firing chamber quicker, allowing you to achieve faster rates of fire, and lower the dwell on the marker as well. The Firebolt and QEV paired up really turns the extcy into one hell of a marker. The marker becomes instantly smoother, quieter, faster, and more efficient.

Check out www.projectpb.com. They've got all of the different GoG upgrades and parts.

No you dont need to drill into the marker to install the qev. However, you do need to dissasemble the marker. Luckily, it isnt too compilcated. There is a video on youtube made by GOG showing you how to install it.

You remove one of the stock banjo's and put the QEV in it's place. It's a quick and painless procedure.

The QEV vents the air that's used to hold the bolt in the open position when the gun cycles to the forward stroke. That way the bolt has less resistance coming forward and can complete it's cycle more quickly. QEV is probably the single best "bang for your buck" mod you can do to these guns.

Banjo's are airline fittings between the hose and the firing chamber, the ones you see online are stock replacements in case one of yours goes bad, I always kept a set in my tool box for this very reason. If you use a QEV, then you only need the back banjo as the QEV replaces the front banjo, it's a direct replacement, no modification to install it, just remove the front banjo, screw in the QEV.

I am not very familiar with electric markers but I bought my son a G1 and I'm trying. I've always used a modded A5. I've read up on them the best i can but my time is kind of limited. I see that many people recommend a QV 360 and a Tech 7 bolt upgrade.

Three questions:

1. He's 14 and just started playing. Are those upgrades worth it? If they are,

2. Do i need to get BOTH for an effective upgrade or will one by itself improve the marker?

He saved his money and bought himself a freak kit with a barrel that is compatible with the Apex 2 (but didn't have enough for the Apex 2 yet).

3. Is the Apex 2 worth it for this marker? I bought him the basics (gun, quality mask, vest, remote, pods, gloves, boots etc.) I think its important now that he spend his own money if he wants to upgrade. otherwise he'll wind up like a spoiled little douche and then I'd have to leave him in a parking lot somewhere. Seriously though, I'm glad to see he is willing to pay for his own stuff to the extent he can, I just don't wanna see him buy stuff that he doesn't need and I don't know enough about these markers.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Sorry, my phone is being a *****... Anyway, none of the upgrades are mandatory. The gun is great without doing anything to it. I wouldn't be rushing to spend money you don't have if funds are limited. That said, I think for the cost the QEV is worth it. I've never tested separately but I've gotten a whole pod extra out of my G1 with the QEV and L7 on a 48/45 bringing my total to a little over 5 pods on that tank. As for the Apex, it's really more of a long range suppression tool. It WILL increase distance, but the floating effect and spread at range with it won't result in eliminations all that often. It's more useful for backing players up or for fields with lots of low hanging branches so you don't have to arc shots as much. For the price, I wouldn't really put a priority on it.
