I have a pair of car audio amplifiers. A Zapco AG1000 and AG650. Both work a power on and output great, but with some minor issues. I just bench tested both of them with RCA inputs (did not test speaker level inputs).
AG1000 - known issues
1. Fan runs all the time if car is on. As long as it is well ventilated I was told by Zapco you could disconnect it and that this does not affect performance. Minimal battery drain regardless
2. Fan is noisy
AG650 - known issues
1. Fan is noisy
2. Intermittent input crackle/issue on some inputs. Only seems to occur when you fiddle with it and is hard to consistently reproduce. For me was a non-issue, i didnt use all the inputs (bridge mode for subs) and you can even feed it stereo if you want. Plus, once installed I didnt touch it so I didnt notice.
That being said, these were pulled from a working install in my truck 6 years ago and they have sat, so there may be issues I am unaware of, therefore:
