Anyone try out the Rocksmith game? Or is it not a game? you use a real guitar from what I gather.. I just dont know if this is something worth getting into? I've played guitar for over 25 years and dont know by what I've scene if this is on the game side or is it a real teaching devise?

Has anyone used it or own it?

Had a gift card for Best Buy so I thought it was worth trying.

It was a bit difficult at first to get used to, but once you pick it up it's a blast. Since you have been playing for 25 years, I am assuming that you have the basic fundamentals of guitar playing, so there is really not much you're going to learn. However, it is still a fun way to learn songs that you haven't played at your own pace. The mini-games are quite helpful and addicting too.

A lot of people have given negative criticism by saying it doesn't actually show you the "proper" way to play a guitar or the songs, or issues with the lag of the sound, but I wasn't expecting a game to teach me to play like clapton and the sound is fine if set up properly. Watch some videos of the songs on youtube to get an idea of the gameplay, but I definitely think it's worth checking out.

I have rocksmith and its a good deal of fun. Be careful though, in order to get the really cool songs, you'll have to pay for them extra.
