And how did we throw you "airsofters" under the bus? Excuse us for not dumping our time and money into preventing the bill for your sorry *****. WE did what WE HAD to, to stop the bill from AFFECTING US. IT'S NOT OUR ****EN job to do yours.
Get it out of your ****en mind that we have to pay your goddamn bills, and fight your goddamn battles.

That's not exactly true.
Local governments can certainly do things like, say, ban discharge of paintballs. Or ban openly carrying a paintball gun in public (CA state law already does this).
But, they may not be able to ban mere possession of paintball guns, or paintball guns that are not a certain color. Well, they could certainly make such a law, but they may not be able to enforce it. They would have to show that such a ban met a compelling local interest, and that that interest was not outweighed by harm to interstate commerce.
It's unlikely that would be the case for paintball guns. It's also unlikely that local ordinances would ban mere possession of paintball guns to begin with, as paintball guns are not the problem, the replica airsoft guns are.
Still, this bill not passing would be better than it passing, if only to preclude even the possibility that any locality in California could even attempt to put a paintball gun ban on the books.

Who's to thank now that paintball is "saved", the people who support this sport working the shops or the one's who paid for the problem to be ignored until the next time? It’s happened before and what was the result? Further division under the guise of unity.
What about our brothers in arms, literally, those airsoft players we’re leaving behind by pitching a quick fix and saying “all done?” “we’re not affected, so screw those guys”. The attitudes surrounding this issue have been unbelievably smug and ignorant.

Dude, paintball is a sport... airsoft is a wargame.. they need to be treated completely different.
I have respect for airsoft players but they are by far not my "brother in arms", MARKERS ARE NOT ARMS THEY ARE MARKERS, they should be treated no differently then a football, or any other tool needed to play a game... you dont see people comparing golf clubs with other metal "Sticks" that could be used to beat people with do you?
Im not saying ohh it does not effect us so screw them, but what I am saying is if its us or them... ill gladly push them off the bridge... I play paintball because its a sport, doing a 1v3 and clutching the game, gives the same thrill as running 50 yards on a kick return and getting a touch down or whatever...
Paintball has fought hard for its spot to be recognized as a sport.. we use markers not guns, firearms, weapons, arms or anything like that!
The only thing a marker SHOULD have in common with a real gun is the fact they both loosely fire projectiles.....
Airsoft guns are made to look like weapons, they can be used to terrorize people, animals and cause fear to people who don't know better...
My honest opinion is that there is plenty of real war going on, if those people want to go to war then join up! We need soldiers!
My heart bleeds for the airsoft players of Cali, it sucks to get something fun ripped away from you, however you guys should consider paintball... its pretty fun!

Not sure if you've notice but a very big part of paintball is the war games side... just saying you might want to be in the sport a bit longer, and look around

Be in the sport a bit longer? I have been playing sense I Was like 15...
I know completely about the "wargames" side of paintball and honestly.. I ignore it.. I do not think paintball markers need to look like real guns there is no point in it and its just freaking silly and if anything it is only hurting paintball as a sport.. why does your A5 need to look like an M4? I mean seriously? WHY? It does not function like an M4 in anyway shape form or fashion?
I embrace the woodsball/scenerio half of paintball because its there... do I condone it, no.... would I ever buy a marker that looks like a real gun.. no....
Do I honestly think that any marker that even kind of resembles a real gun should be banned from production? YES I really strongly do.. it is doing nothing but hurting the sport I have loved sense I was a child, so that people can play weekend warrior, and feel like they are "soldiers"
Hate it or not, you can not deny that any "fake arm" that looks like a real "arm" only hurts us!

Being inthe military and have done a few tours by now I want to agree with trix. I started on woodsball and stil play it every now and then. Your gats don't need to look like a m4. They really don't. You arentgoing to see someone holding up a bank with a luxe. They is no benefitting factor on having a marker look like a "real" gun. Stay luxey

This is a sport, where more or less at the end of the day the only thing that we fight for is respect, respect as a player, respect as a team, and respect as a sport! We dont get our names in maganizes,TV, or posters on kids walls. The only kind of "ballin" any paintball player ever gets is when he is filling his pods... We dont get million dollar deals, or 100k+ watchers... Noone knows our names, or cares about us! All it would take is the snap of the fingers from someone who matters and paintball could be CTRL+Alt+Del'ed right off the face of this planet...
Lets not give them any reason to want to do that!

The same goes for Scenario Paintball, in every aspect of the game,
We play for the love of the game, and the honor to win, no prizes or trophies,
we're not warmongers, or wannabe's, I play with several current serving, and past serving ARMY personel, i've also played with many Marines, Army Rangers, and many other who love this game to the core,
for 20 years i've played in swamps, Deserts, forrests and buildings with countless others,
whenever paintball appears in the media, tv shows, commercials, its the woodsball side, and thats the side that the general public knows about and see's,
I Love speedball, and respect those who play, its a cool game, but as a professional scenario player i've literally been flown around the world to join those who love this sport as much as you do.
The public is very aware of what paintball is, and we in the woodsball community work hard to keep Public Relations positive,
Its growing rapidly all over the world, game makers like COD and Battlefield have called me to host events for thier CEO's for launches, Corporations use woodsball for teambuilding ventures,
and there is a reason why the big speedball companies are now making crossover gear, they see where the sport is going, and how sales are being affected,
THIS IS NOT a Woodsball VS Speedball argument, rather i love of ALL THINGS PAINTBALL, so appreciate all aspects of the sport i love, not just one segment

EXACTLY! I'm new to this forum but I've been playing PB since 1997 and my close friend owns two stores here in So. Cali. I can tell you that the PB culture is more organized and dedicated to the cause that's why this Amendment was put thru. Those Airsoft "Soldier Wannabes" need to suck it up and fight their own battles. If it wasn't for them tricking out their GUNS to look like the real thing and running around shooting them in the streets none of this crap would be all in the media in the first place. I know there were idiots running around with PB markers and acting inbreed also but at least our markers don't look so much like real guns, especially with a hopper and a air tank attached to it!!!
Ok, Sorry, rant over. One hell of a first post for me. LOL
Peace out boys.
