i have an original ion and love the gun...but want to upgrade it to the XE bolt out the back version...is there any way this can be done? and how do i go about doing this? thanks guys

Find an XE Conversion kit. Comes with the new body, feedneck, & back cap. Re-use the other parts from your Ion, and bam, Ion XE.

You may be better off finding the entire top half of an XE rather than a conversion kit. Main differences are the XE uses NXT neck threads, the breech/firing can are a single piece and are slightly larger in diameter and the body. The frame, trigger board etc are the same.

Conversion kit comes with the entire top half, minus the bolt. There are also color kits that do not, so it's important to notice the difference when shopping around.

NIB conversion kits are still floating around, i ordered one from a store in Texas selling off their inventory through Amazon.
